Review summary

Overall we did enjoy ourselves very much, but a few downfalls for such a beautiful ship. The go-carts and lazer tag are added expenses that we didn't realize would be an additional fees. You had to sign up for them at the start of the cruise and they booked up within the first couple of hours. We also heard that even though you had scheduled times to go you had to still wait in line for up to an hour. Weather was to cold, wet, and windy to enjoy the pools and hot-tubs. Shows were great! I have had better food and food choices on other cruises ( all with NCL). I do not think we will ever go on this ship again, and I'm glad it was just my husband and myself this trip. We often take some of our grandchildren with us, they would have been extremely disappointed in the go-carts and lazer-tag situation. Again overall we did enjoy ourselves very much, but a few downfalls for such a beautiful ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet: often very hard to find a table, food not a very large selection. Closed between courses instead of just changing out on side then the other. Main Dinning: all had the same food on their menus so it didn't matter where you went you only had the same choices per day. Local Lounge: Very good food not a lot of choice but good. Specialty: didn't choose to try them

Onboard Activities

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Yes, clean and maintained however the elevators were not very fast. To long of wait times and very overcrowded.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was excellent and we had a wonderful cabin Stewart.

Ship tip

If you are a smoker I would re-think going on this ship. It took 4 hours just be find the smoking area the first day and it moved or was completely closed several times during the trip.

Skagway, Alaska

The town was great, however it was good 1/2 to 3/4 mile hike to get there. Very windy, with a misty rain. Were a very rain coat.

Victoria, British Columbia

2 out of 5
I personally have been to Victory a few times and love it, However it is a good 2 mile hike to town form the ship, they have shuttle buses however it cost $13.00 per person to ride them. Not a good experience for us.

Thanks for the tip about the go arts.

Do you need to prebook the shows before getting on the ship, or once on the ship, or not at all? Is there several restaurants that are included, or just the buffet?

I'm wondering if a year from now people will still be willing to pay.
