Review summary

We had a great week of abnormally warm and sunny weather on our cruise, with only one day of fog at Sea after leaving Skagway. It was a really pleasurable experience and we want to go back to the Pacific Northwest and Alaska!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The smoothest and fastest embarkation experience ever. No waiting, fast service and we were boarding. We had an 11:30am embarkation time reserved through NCL.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Plenty of bars and great service at all of them. The food was pretty good, and we enjoyed Q and Cagneys the most, as well as the Local for pub fare. We had high hopes for Ocean Blue and the oyster menu but they weren't all that special and one in our party found her fish entry tough. I'd try La Cucina instead next time.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were sold out all the time, yet sometimes the seats reserved for the Haven were unused. We did enjoy that there was a variety of live music and liked Siglo very much when they were playing their rock repertoire.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was overwhelmingly friendly and helpful. We received great service everywhere on the ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful and clean - brand new ship was quite striking. All the items were so new - right down to the towels and napkins. I noticed the towels had tags that noted they were for the Bliss.

Ship tip

Perhaps select a room nearer to the back, if you don't mind that part of ship sailing, and need elevators. As opposed to mid-ship or the front. They do not have the forward elevators on the Bliss and the Aft elevators seemed more empty. The midship elevators were nearly always packed. The ship doesn't rock a lot at all as its so large. We worked around it and climbed stairs frequently but not everyone can handle that. Its alot more floors to climb than other NCL ships we've sailed.

Juneau, Alaska

Highlight of the trip was Juneau and the trip to glacier after leaving Juneau. Free shuttle to the tram stop- We did the Mt Roberts Tram - go early!!! - and enjoyed the tram and the views from on top.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Skagway was small but had great beautiful surroundings. The shuttle to town was only $2 each way per person. We took the railway up and back and loved it.

Victoria, British Columbia

This is a very pretty city with lots of flowers everywhere, which I've found it typical in Canadian cities in the summer. Would have liked to explore different tours if I return. We did walking self tour.
