Review summary

Great family cruise with 13 people. The NCL Bliss is a great ship and the NCL Joy will be a great addition to Alaska. The ships amentities are amazing and I’m pretty sure anyone who sales on the Bliss will love her.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Embarkation in Seattle was different from those in Florida. Basically, you just get dropped off on the side of the road versus pulling up right in front of the terminal. The security team inside the terminal was quite rude to my mother who has been having some issues with her arms. They continued to yell at her when she was trying to get her documents ready and it aggravated everyone in our party.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The only bummer was that you needed reservations for all of the activities, but we made sure we got reservations to do everything we wanted.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Havana was only okay, but Jersey Boys was amazing!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
A few just eh waiters, but everyone else onboard was great! They made sure you were comfortable and everything was how you wanted it.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was immaculately clean, but I feel the design of the ship could have been better. There are lots of crowds in the front of the ship, but if you work your way back, there are almost no crowds.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Make sure to book all onboard activities by the end of the first day.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Great city to visit once and experience some great attractions, but have no desire to return anytime soon.

Ketchikan, Alaska

We did a rainforest walk and it was great. The best part was seeing a totem pole being carved for the park.

Juneau, Alaska

Mendenhall Glacier is a must! We saw a mamma bear and her two cubs at the glacier. The park rangers did an amazing job making sure everyone was safe.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
The White Pass Summit train was great. It is an amazing way to see some of Alaska’s beauty.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
We had no excursion booked, but we walked around the city. Let’s just say Victoria is beautiful and a city I would love to live in. The people were very friendly and I felt very comfortable just walking around.

Can you explain more about the activity reservations? Is that for the live shows or just activities like the karts and laser tag?

Glad to hear... Will be on Joy next Sept. And Joy is suppose to be very close to the Bliss!

Kforte40... my parents used the NCL app and It worked fine for them. Some of us, including myself, had the social media package. We used WhatsApp to stay in touch with people both on the ship and back home. The NCL app can only be used to communicate with others onboard
