Review summary

Although the Bliss is a new ship it was not at all what we expected. The ship is very poorly arranged. Its impossible to get into any of the shows because they book so quickly, as well a the specialty dining and the clubs. We were trying to book shows weeks before the cruise and couldn't get in. Received 3 specialty dining's and they were booked up finally got into the Ocean Blue and then had to pay an upcharge. The open areas are too small for the amount of guest, super crowded. The worst was trying to maneuver through the Garden Café in the mornings, horrible, never found place to sit and the crowds were out of control. We booked a balcony room and found it to be much smaller than any of the other cruise lines balcony's. We were treated very rudely by several of the bar staff. Its a shame because this was for our 40th anniversary and we had saved for a very long time to take this trip. However, the food and drinks were very good!

Marilyn13, when in October are you sailing?

SoCalCruiser1    6 years ago

I also have booked dinners and shows in advance for the October cruises. It will be nice to have a new ship sailing out of Los Angeles rather than those old ships.

Thanks for the review

I am going on the Bliss in October to Mexico and I have already booked reservations for my shows and restaurants accept the one that I want to go to so I don't know how they are inside yet. I can't wait I hear some good reviews and some bad I have a handicapped room so I don't think it's going to be as crowded but we will see it's going to be a big ship so I am using a scooter on the ship. I still can't wait to go we'll see how it is and I will let people know I have a 108 days out as of today. So yeah it should be fun. I think but thank you for the heads up

1957cruiser....if you haven't booked a cruise to Alaska yet, then try Princess Cruises. I have mainly cruised with Princess and am very happy with their service and ships. Prices are similar to other cruise lines, but I feel if it's gonna be your first cruise, then make it memorable

If you want more adult only cruise to do not use Bliss. The ship needed two main galleys instead of one, they had 2 regular style dinner room that 1 would been better.

Excellent review although now I’m a little dubious about the whole “cruise scene”. We’ve never been on a cruise before but wanted to see Alaska, our travel agent suggested NCL Bliss for our first cruise ever September 1-7...this may be our one and only we do if this is the norm. On this social media site alone, I’ve read multiple comments about the “cattle call” in the cafe and nowhere to sit in the Observation area. Hopefully it will be the excursions that make our trip memorable.

Good review.. I heard a lot of people say exactly what you went through as well. Bummer hopefully you will book a cruise again just on another ship or line
