Review summary

It was my first cruise And maybe my last. Guess I’m a road trip kind of girl.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were already in the land tour portion of our trip so it was pretty seamless.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was fine, but by no means the best ever. My expectations were apparently too high for what we got.

Explorations Cafe

4 out of 5

Nice. Close to our room and drinks included in our package

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
BB King lounge had an amazing band. Other entertainment was ok

Crow's Next

5 out of 5

Liked the atmosphere

Children's Programs

No kids with us

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We loved our dinner servers. And all staff are friendly and accommodating.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Major flu and upper respiratory illness going around. But can’t blame the crew.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Nice cabin. Lots of storage. But we were with three other couples with cabins next to each other expecting to be able to open the dividers on the balcony. Very disappointed we couldn't have that shared space (the reason we got balconies)

Ship tip

Eighth floor was amazing

Ports of call

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

3 out of 5
White Pass Railroad was not as fantastic as price indicates it would be. If you are doing the land/sea cruise and are in the trains to/from Denali, skip the white pass.

Cruise Glacier Bay

3 out of 5
It takes a long time sailing that day before you are actually looking at glaciers. We expected to see more earlier in the day and wasted Time sitting around in the crows nest

Haines, Alaska

3 out of 5
Cute town but sleepy

Juneau, Alaska

3 out of 5
What’s with all the jewelry stores in these towns? Bring in more local artists and their wares to be sold.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
My favorite port though co structuring was happening right at the port. So cute with a great local artist shop

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

I agree with ronnyclicks. Caribbean cruises have a totally different feel. More outdoor fun, party atmosphere if that's what you want but still plenty of quiet spots too. Just avoid summer unless your ok with LOTS of kids. We like mid to late May. We're in our 60's but enjoy a mix of ages. Some families, some college kids, etc. We don't do everything but we enjoy watching. Try again. You just might get hooked!😅

Definitely sounds like cruising isn’t for you. I could be happy seeing Alaska on the ferry.

Try Carnival or Royal Caribbean to the Caribbean islands. It will a totally different experience
