This cruise was great value for the money. Fit our dates and timing perfectly. We were very happy with it overall and would do it again.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Not our best embarkation experience. A hundred people in line ahead of us when we arrived during our pre-set timeslot. Took over an hour and had a few hiccups in processing. But we made it on board in one piece.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was amazing with lots of options. Only complaint was that the buffet was crowded and there weren't enough servers in each food station to serve all the people in line in an efficient way (thanks covid for removing self-serve buffet options.) If we can get back to self-service, there will be no complaint! But overall it was all manageable. Plenty of other options outside of the buffet and all delicious.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We used pools, hot tubs and fitness center. We were able to enjoy all of them. We mostly sought out times when it wouldn't be crowded and weren't disappointed.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We didn't do a lot of shows but did enjoy hearing the wonderful musical performances in open areas as we walked around. Very nicely done and great talent.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff were attentive and helpful. No complaints.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship was clean and design was easy to learn and navigate.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
There were 3 of us in this cabin and we were able to enjoy it comfortably. Really liked that there were a deck of larger suites below us so I didn't have to worry about the kids dropping their cell phones over the balcony.
Ship tip
Pool near the back is less crowded. Stairs are an easy way to move around without waiting for elevators. A balcony room above a larger suite was good peace of mind for balcony safety.
We did a tour that combined a visit to the old fort with a trip into the rainforest. My kids enjoyed seeing the rainforest but we arrived late and the tower one climbs for viewing was closed already. There wasn't much to do except take a few photos and then drive back down to a waterfall for a few more photos. Would've enjoyed a bit more to do in the rainforest. Still, it was a good way to spend the day and now my kids have been to the only tropical rainforest in the US.
We did the ultimate island tour that included 2 hours at Meghan's Bay, some photos points, and then some time to shop downtown before going back to the ship. We really enjoyed both stops - Meghan's Bay is stunning and 2 hours in the clear water was just what we needed.
We really loved the sand and surf on this island. Gorgeous! We did 2 short excursions - glass boat ride in the eco lagoon and then kayaking. Both were in the eco lagoon and I wish we could've done one at the beach - like horseback riding - but they booked up very early on. Still, we enjoyed the time and were happy with the activities on the island. The free lunch of Island BBQ was a wonderful feature for the day as well.
