Review summary

Overall, I was very pleased and enjoyed our cruise and would sail Holland America again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation went smoothly. It took approximately one hour from drop off to boarding. Verifly helped speed things along.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room was wonderful. We enjoyed the food and fantastic service. The lido deck buffet could get hectic on certain days but the food was always delicious.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pool and spa were very nice. I do wish they had bingo more often. Bingo was limited to one sea day on our 7-day cruise.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We didn't see any of the shows but enjoyed the music walk. Both BB King Blues Club and Rolling Stone Rock Room were fantastic.

Children's Programs

We don't have small children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We received exceptional service from all of the staff. Our waiters and room steward went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is lovely and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room size was adequate. The TV, balcony, and shower were larger than most cabins on other cruiselines. The decor was fresh, clean, and modern compared to other cruiselines.

Ship tip

On sea days, order room service for lunch or order pizza from the app. The buffet is crazy on sea days. Wherever you decide to eat, order or go early. Seating is limited.

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Bar Harbor is a charming, quaint town. It was cool and misty on the day we were in port but I still enjoyed strolling through town.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
We rented a car to discover Halifax. We found the people were very friendly and we enjoyed our trip to Peggy's Cove. We also stopped at the SwissAir Memorial and Titanic gravesites.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

4 out of 5
Sydney was alright. It simply didn't have the same appeal of the other port stops. In fairness, we did not have a long time in port and could not venture too far.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Quebec City, Quebec

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation was hectic and I didn't like that we were further away from the city than other ships in port who were within walking distance to Chateau Frontenac (our hotel).
