Review summary

Like I said earlier that shift needs a complete culture adjustment, the staff feels that they’re doing you a favor and there are unpleasant people there were a few that were nice but 95% of them had attitudes and felt like they were doing you a big favor by being there, never again will I Cruise on Holland America. It actually gave me a very bad taste about ever cruising again.

Service and the staff were fine with each other they joked around with each other they were nice to each other but they treated us like they were doing us a big favor and it was a big inconvenience I’ve never been treated so horrible before on a vacation or a cruise line they need a complete culture change on that ship

The retractable roof board over the pool area was a terrible design they kept it closed most of the time and the aft pool area was nothing more than an afterthought, the crew was annoyed when they had to put the chairs out and there was absolutely nothing to do out back there no music no entertainment it was horrible

Maybe it was your attitude. Ship staff are servers not slaves and almost anyone can sense when someone is copping a condescending attitude toward them. I always greeted everyone that I made eye contact with. Kindness makes a difference.

Sorry you had a bad experience. The HAL cruises I've been on have been the exact opposite. The Crew members I've dealt with have been without fail the most helpful and friendly I have ever encountered on any cruise line. Hopefully, I'll find them the same way on my next HAL cruise.

Sounds like cruising isn’t for you. Most cruise workers go above and beyond to please customers. Maybe the attitude of the customer was more of an issue than the workers.
