The ship and staff are excellent! The food was very good and they had a lot of selections.

After cruising more than 35 times, we were very impressed with our first Holland America cruise. The entire experience exceeded our expectations.

Sailed on the Niew Amsterdam out of Barcelona for 7-day Mediterranean cruise. First time on Holland America and a good choice. Shore excursions were excellent - tour guides knowledgeable and pleasant. We had open seating and found while the food was very good in the main dining room, seating for a party of two was not always easily had.

Compared to other Dam ships that were older, this ship showed signs of very poor quality

Overall, the ship is in great condition, the rooms are huge, the restaurants are amazing, and the crew was outstanding.

The ship was modern, the right size, , clean, and user friendly. Nice atmosphere. Disappointed that we were given no onboard credit or upgrage, even thogh this was our first cruise with HAL.

The minute we step onto the ship we were impressed by the beauty of the ship and it's staff. Top notch all the way. Food, staff and passengers were great! This was the best cruise ever. We wouldn't think twice about sailing on Holland America again. In fact, we are all ready looking for our next cruise in the fall and we are sure it will be on Holland America once again. We never felt so special as we did on this trip. Want class, I suggest trying this cruise line.

we recently cruised the neuw amsterdam. we loved the cruise! the only disappointment was not getting to go to grand turk. i think we should have been offered another island to visit. i like visiting new islands. i feel cheated. we could have at least had another day on the private island.

The cruise was terrific--service and food always top notch on Holland America--cannot say enough about the crew and the chefs. This was our second cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam. This time we tried the rear-facing verandah cabin: a little more room, king size bed, 180-degree view. A little more vibration and motion but not excessive. Could not stop at Grand Cayman as the port was closed due to rough seas (need to take life boat/tenders from ship there) but we did not mind too much as we had been to Grand Cayman before and we got an additional day at sea to enjoy the ship. Wish we could say the same for customs upon disembarking at the end of the cruise. They only had two agents working at one time for the US passengers. Customs were only letting a small number of passengers off at a time and our 8:00 time slot quickly became 9:30; then a one hour wait in line (non-US had a two hour wait in line).

The food and service were great. Could not stop at Grand Cayman as port closed due to weather (not too bad as we have been there before). Only problem was disembarking at Fort Lauderdale due to Customs backlog. They only had two agents working for US citizens (non-US was backed up over 2 hours wait). Customs were holding passengers on the ship, letting only a few off at one time and we still had to wait on line for an hour for an agent. Not HAL's fault.

Holland America will be our cruise line from now on. Yes they're a bit more than other cruise lines, but you get what you pay for. The crew was awesome and we had a fantastic time.

The Nieuw Amsterdam is our favorite HAL ship because of the high level of service, the Tamborin restaurant and the choice of ports.

I loved this ship! The piano bar was amazing, and I loved the elegant atrium. As always, food was amazing on HAL NA. Would definitely sail HAL again, and would be super excited to sail on the NA!

Love this ship, good size and activity. Good shopping and food.

Size good, not too many pasengers. No lines, no crowding.
