The ports were (mostly) terrific. This was a cruise well worth taking.

Food and Dining

The Pinnacle Restaurant was outstanding. The presentation of the food was beautiful and enticing. The food was outstanding. Our waiter (Win) was exceptional.
The Main Dining Room was good. The check-in with Krista was easy and friendly. The food and wait staff in the Main Dining Room was great. I was turned off by people walking in to the dining room and announcing that they were going to see themselves to "their table" when a long line existed to get into the Dining Room. It was confusing about how to reserve a table. Guest Services could not make a reservation and the Dining Room check-in staff was very busy.
The Lido Market was okay. The water glasses were small, and the water/ice machine had problems dispensing water and ice. The staff clearing the tables seemed like they didn't know what to do. The food was ok. The selection was good, however there were many instances where the food was overcooked or undercooked. The dining area was usually crowded and it was challenging to find a table. There were several times where we left the Lido because it was too difficult to find a table. It was confusing about how to get food as there was no organization on how to line up to get food.
The Dive-In (hamburgers) and Pizza were really good.
We ended up purchasing bottled water on shore so that we didn't have to pay for water onboard, and didn't have to deal with small water glasses and intermittent dispensing machines.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was very comfortable. I was disappointed by the neighbor in 6070 who decided to participate in conference calls EVERY afternoon for at least two hours. The person spoke loudly and was rude to his coworkers. It would be good for Holland America to remind passengers to be conscious that people are on vacation and do not want to experience work stress.
Ship tip
It's a great and memorable experience. Be prepared to deal with rude people.
This is a tourist trap. The ship passengers are herded into a small shopping area which makes the area very crowded. The vendors were aggressive which caused us to go back to the ship.
The process was very easy. Beware that the Fort Lauderdale airport will check-in passengers four hours before the flight. This caused a lot of people to wait in the airport basement for hours. That was an unpleasant surprise.
