Review summary

This cruise was great. The first we took since 2020. The safety and health of both the crew and passengers was exemplary. Great to be back to cruising again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast, only 20 minutes total from port entrance to cabin on ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dinning was great especially the Tamarind. Food was very good. Service was outstanding. The only thing is that if you stay on the ship for more than a week you get the exact same menu every week and the dinning room lunch menu (served only on sea days) was always the same.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did not use any of the activities, however those that did seemed to enjoy them

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The main stage shows the same dance group for 4 nights, repeated every week. The Billboard on board piano trio was ok. The BB King singers were fantastic. We did not see any of the Lincoln Center musicians except in the BBC Planet Earth II move where they provided live musical accompaniment, where they were very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone on the ship are pleasent and eager to assist you in any way so that you can have the best experience possible. The Filipino and Indonesian service crew are the best and are the reason we choose Holland American Line.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Layout was set up well. Very easy to find your way around. Ship was very clean

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Well laid out. plenty of outlets and 4 USB ports. Bathroom had both shower & Tub.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
Good embarkation port. Well set up We did take an excursion Land & sea visiting the canals & waterways of Ft Lauderdale on a riverboat. Good tour and a way to avoid the changeover day commotion.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
The Sail in is a must to see. You pass Fort San Felipe del Morro that sits on a bluff and then pass Old San Juan before docking in the downtown area. From here it is easy to explore old San Juan on foot on your own.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
If your into shopping this probably has the most shopping in the Carribean. If you can get up high on the hills you can get some great views of the port, and some of the surrounding beaches

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

4 out of 5
Half moon Cay, is HAL's private island which it's private beach forms a large semi circle which can be seen from the ship. It is very good if you are a beach goer.

Willemstad, Curacao

5 out of 5
This is, in my opinion the prettiest town in all of the Caribbean. The colorful buildings in Punda are well worth a stroll through.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
Another great water destination. If you can get out of Oranjestad, where the ship docks, you get to see the desert countryside and the rugged coast on the north of the island.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It only took 15 minutes from when we told we could leave until we out of the terminal
