The refurbishment of the ship definitely makes it a good Holland Choice with lots of areas for everyone to find something to do. The ports are coming back to life and we understand the catch 22 with actually being ready to receive the cruise ships and the "needing" to receive the cruise ships. Overall it did not affect our trip and we were happy to support those areas we visited.

Holland does food amazingly well. No exceptions here! Even the buffet had an abundance of choices to fit anyone. Lots of healthy food options as well!

Holland has a great crew. Our room staff were always engaging, assisted with extras (extension cord, wine glasses, ice) and were on top of cleanliness daily. Room was made up twice a day. We had rented a cabana on the Lido deck and the service from Francis was outstanding.

If you have not travelled on the Nieuw Amsterdam since the refurbishment, well worth a trip again!
Power had just come back for some we visited. A past favorite spot - Beer Garden - had just re-opened. If your on main street and tired of the jewelry shopping, stop in. Great people to drink and chat with. If you are up for a little walk (15-20 mins), try the "Pie Whole" in Frenchtown. French Town brewery beer is worth the walk! Several attractions without power and traffic lights still not working.
Beautiful island that had been hit by storm weeks before arrival. Tons of sea weed washed up on beach which has eroded significantly due to storm. Really limited beach space close to the dock. HOWEVER, a short stroll down the beach gave you plenty of room.
