Overall Recommended Cruise Ship by DanF5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall exceptional ship "Navigator of Seas". We had clean rooms, great service, along with pretty darn good entertainment. Food in the dining rooms as usual was top notch. Servers are delightful. Windjammer has a good selection but is so congested with people that we typically eat in the quiet and exquisite atmosphere the dining rooms provide. ***IF you go to Ft. Lauderdale be sure to arrive prior to bording around 1pm or earlier. We arrived at 3pm and had to park about 2 miles away after being denied parking close by. It all took 1 hour to park!

Cancelled flights...still worth going ! by LynnL1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Promenade Mall with the Xmas decorations along with the On Board & Holiday Parades were breath taking. "Now & Forever" Evening show was Broadway quality. "Ice Dancing" was beautiful... staffed with quality Russian skaters. The Navigator of Sea Orchestra was very very good. Cruise Director Ricky was the best we've encountered. Too much of a good thing can spoil you. The Windjammer & Jade buffets provided a wonderful variety of choices for your dining pleasure. Room stewart service was excellent ! Surprise they catered a late evening pool side buffet during an extremely rough and windy evening. The "Cons" is all about the effort of tagging your luggage by color and number codes. You take a very lengthy hike to the warehouse where your luggages are lumped together by color only and not pre-sorted by the numbers 1,2 & 3. Make sure you tag your black luggage with color ribbon to destingish your bags from others & minimize your headache.

Excellent cruise by MarieT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was a very attracttive ship arranged to easily find one's way about. Although it didn't make me sick, the ship's stablizers didn;t appear to be operating properly causing great deal of rolling making walking difficult. I have encountered the same type of seas and worse many times and did not have this occur.

A rocky ride by VickiB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was clean with friendly staff. Stabilizer was defective so the ship rocked and lots of people were seasick. On the formal dinner night hardly anyone showed up for dinner because of a combination of bad weather and a rough ride which caused excessive seasickness. At the purser's desk and in the medical facility they handed out free packages of Medi-Meclizine (seasick pills like Dramamine). These pills worked very well to combat queasiness. We picked a bad week to take our cruise, but unfortunately we can't predict the weather and mechanical problems. This was our 6th cruise with Royal Caribbean and it was the worst because of the mechanical problem with the stabilizer. I think this should have been fixed before we left port. They were working on it and were 2 hours late leaving Ft. Lauderdale, but I think it should have been completely fixed. A bad stabilizer equals seasick passengers and less than desirable memories. The ship needs more and better directional arrows to public restrooms.

A wonderful ship and crew by RitaS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise and we were delighted with our balcony room. The room was much larger than we expected on a ship and had plenty of storage areas to store everything we brought on-board. The service was excellent. While the ship doesn't have coffeemakers in the rooms, the room service personnel brought us coffee at all hours of the night and morning. As we are early risers, we were concerned about not having coffee available right away. In addition, there was a 24 hour cafe on the promenade deck that had snacks and coffee available whenever you wanted them. The porter assigned to our room went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He was excellent. The food was excellent, especially in the main seating rooms. We had bad weather, however, between the casino, shows, etc. we managed to stay busy. Our port of call, Cozumel was disappointing, mostly because of the weather. I wouldn't go on another trip to Cozumel but would take another cruise.

Great ship, but where did it stop? by RichardT14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great ship with excellent facilities that support many passengers without overwhelming and crowding. Individual facilities are designed to give much smaller ship feeling. Food, facilities, staff were great. Entertainment not so great.Overcast weather and lack of sun during four night cruise nodoubt colored impression of cruise, including lack-luster port call at Cuzamel.

Royal Caribbean Has Outdone Themselves by LynelleM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our First Cruise and we booked with Cruises Only.Com. They were very helpful in recommending a Cruise for 2 adults and 3 adult children (ages 21/22) Royal Caribbean Navigator of The Seas Ship was everything and more in the way of ship amenities, activities, outstanding food, and the service you receive is Excellent. Even though I cannot compare to other cruise lines, I feel this has to be one of the best lines for the money and it kept our children (ages 21/22) well occupied, and they enjoyed it as much as we did. The only thing we would have done differently is gotten a room with a window for 3 people or a balcony room, as their interior stateroom was very small for 3 although they did not seem to mind, because they only slept there and then were out on the ship. Great Experience and Wonderful Memories!!!!

Would be happy to Cruise Again by DonP10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is HUGE and there were 1000's of passengers, however it is so big that you can have privacy if you want to. There are many restaurants and bars and food and drink and entertainment are available 24 hours. All of the staff are friendly and speak some English. Communication was never a problem unlike some other cruise lines that I have been told of. You can ice skate, see a show, dance till 4am, sun on the decks, soak in the hot tubs, or just sleep in your room. If you are bored on board, that is your fault, not the ships. The one very bad thing was the "expedited departure" where they offer a walk off if you carry your own baggage. What they did NOT tell us was that we had to carry all our luggage down 6 flights of stairs. Very dfficult and damaging as we both had 2 large suitcases. The ones who checked their bags actually got off the ship faster than the "expedited" departures.

So so, not impressed by LarryL10

Sail date: /
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise would have been better if the food was good. The decoration and services were really good. Overall, the shows were ok but the farewell show was wonderful. The food was really below average. The buffet was almost the same every day and the food in the main dining room did not taste good at all. It's hard to sail for 5 days without good food. One more thing is to stay healthy and never use the medical services there. The doctors do not know what they are doing, which really scared me. They do not have a US license to practice, which is still fine. What is really scary is they do not possess the basic knowledge and skills.

Could have been better!!! by VickieR3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have cruised this cruise line before - Liberty of the Seas in May of this same year. That boat was 100% better. Everyone I talked to seemed to have some kind of plumbing problem from stools to bath tubs, the public stools also seemed to be clogged all the time - when I reported one area to an employee it was still clogged 2 hours later - no maintenance to be found. There also seemed to be an awful sewer smell in many parts of the ship. Tv's were outdated - beds extremely uncomfortable. The one good thing was the staff who were extremely helpful and very enjoyable. The food in The Windjammer buffet was way below par - usually cold if there was any actually in the serving plates and a constant fight to get through the many lines - very poorly organized. Again - none of these problems existed on Liberty of the Seas. Dining room food very good - as well as Portofino and Johnny Rockets

Very formal cruise by Eileenie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

It seemed perfect for older couples. Handicap accessability was excellent and there were a lot of handicapped people. Prefer other cruise lines that cater to more fun. They had no dancing waiters or ship talent shows ! We were there for Halloween and there was very little to do for it. There was a poorly attended children's party in a club after 9 at night. The children's entertainment was somewhat boring. No great crafts and stuff.

Had a wonderful trip by JoM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We had a wonderful trip. We love sailing on the Royal Caribbean cruise ships. This was 5th time for us. Our family was with us to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We all had a great time. We were disappointed in the excursion trip in Turkey where we were dropped off the bus at a rug company and after their showing how rugs were made, about 6 salesmen came into room and we felt undue pressure to buy a rug. Royal Caribbean should not condon this type of thing. We were there to enjoy our wonderful trip and the excursions, which we did. We had our very photogenic granddaughter with us and could not resist having her picture taken at every place. We bought $758.00 worth of photos and felt like the other 15 we could lnot afford although they were great pictures. We asked for a discount for the other 15 but was told emphatically "no". If you still have the pictures for room 2512 & 2516 for the Mantells, maybe you would consider mailing them to us instead of trashing. We had a fabulous time and will certainly book our next trip next year on thed Royal Caribbean. The food was so good and all the waiters, in the dining room and the cabin staff were excellent. We couldnt have asked for better service. In our opinion, our best sailing has been on THE ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRISE LINE. THANKS FOR AS GREAT 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TRIP! Jo and Robert Mantell and family

A mediocre vacation by KimberlyW6

The ship is beautiful. The crew was polite and courteous, However, I didn't find anything that really stood out that made the cruise extraordinary. In fact, I would have rather have stayed on land at a hotel.
