Enjoyed ports of call.  Disappointed in food in main dining room.  Poor quality and not enough variety.    Dining time was a problem, as it was set at 8:00 p.m. too late, changed time to 5:30 which is too early.

Fantastic by jmtrvles

Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The entertainment, food, rooms, decorations, was very nice.  Highly recommend, I  mostly cruised another cruise line (which was my No. 1 choice until I cruised the Navigator). I will choose Royal Caribeean next time.

I was not pleased with how the luggage claim area was handled.  It seemed forever before we could find our luggage and then had to wait in a long line to get off the ship.

I was very pleased with the room, very spacious. The room service was excellent.  Our servers at the dining room could not have been better.  Andy and Dean (servers) were quick and very anxious to please us with food, service, etc.

You get what you pay for in cruises by loveboji

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

* did not provide programs listed in promo materials

* check-in & disembark processes was a nightmare, poorly organized

* shopping on board was limited and extremely expensive

* crowded conditions with 4000 on board plus 1500 boat staff

* food services and selection were surprisingly good

* stateroom staff do not get compensation from company, their only compensation received is from the gratuities paid by those passengers taking the cruise...terrible exploitation for hard working people

* do not be lured in to booking because of special on board promos...everything on board from beverages to special restaurants and custom services is high priced and will quickly consume your on board credits

* beware of communication services provided e.g. wi-fi is VERY SLOW and poor, use of personal cell phones incurs add-on charges and is expensive, TV programs provided in staterooms is poor at best

* information lectures provided by RC is a disappointment and a sales pitch to buy high priced merchandise from Diamonds International

* live music provided on board is loud and not designed for dancing or relaxation

* boat staff are very friendly and work hard to keep ship and staterooms clean and provide pleasant service despite being poorly compensated by company

* Royal Caribbean advertising claims to be the #1 rated cruise line is a misleading and deceptive

Had a great time on this cruise! MY SECOND ONE ON THE NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS! The staff is amazing and so friendly and helpful!  We especially enjoyed the trivia contests on board and the evening entertainment. And of course the food was the greatest!

Great first cruise by bbchen68

For the money this was a real bargain. I loved the restaurants and the shore excursions were also really great. The best excursion was the one we arranged through the ship. However, the excursion to Fantasy Island in Roatan was a nightmare. Do not go there Island Adventures!

Navigator of the Seas by taryncruiser

Overall very enjoyable cruise. The ship was very clean and gorgeous. This was my first cruise, and the expectations were met. Amenities include a small ice rink, rock climbing wall, sports court, and the flowrider (small surfing area on deck). I was surprised at the amount of elderly people on our cruise and the activities are mostly geared towards them, but there were a couple of teen only or children's activities. The shore excursions were amazing, and I highly recommend going on at least 2/3 days. Definitely bring your swim suit, a waterproof camera, and a light backpack or satchel to go on adventures with!

Best first cruise! by ameedzimitrowic

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first cruise and is was more then I expected it to be. I knew that the service should be great and it was the employees were very nice and attentive and I loved that they tried to get to know you and would call me by name.my room attended was amazing I'm afraid i forget what his name is, but he was awesome. I didn't have to pick up anything. I attended the 5:30 dinner service and the servers were also very attentive and good at keeping up with our tables needs. the food was good and the presentation was great but I would say it was 3 1/2 to 4 star food, but the bread rolls were the best I've had! the ship was very clean I would say only the elevator call buttons were the only thing that looked dirty but that's because every one used the elevators. I loved all of the shows that were put on for us, that was something I didn't know happened on the ship. I do think drinks were over prices I couldn't figure out how they based there prices I would order a Pina Colada that would be $8 and that was somewhat ok since it came in a bigger glass but then I would order a Malibu and coke that only had one shot and come in a small glass and that would also be $8. and I thought about getting the drink package but for the days that I had an excursion I just didn't find it very worth it. this was my first cruise and I am happy with the service and overall trip.

Great Experience by drashall14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was beautiful, and the staff were the absolute best ever.  The food was great in the main dining room with excellent service.  Great shows at night, and pretty decent activities during the day.  The shore excursions were excellent and the process of getting on and off the ship were good, did not have to wait long and was not a big hassle.  Overall a wonderful experience I would so recommend to anyone.

Very Nice by jimandsuzydale

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed our cruise very much.  Our room porter Ronald Holt was wonderful and very considerate and took care of our needs very well.

The food was the best that we have ever had on a cruise and we enjoyed the fact that the buffet was never crowded.

This was the first big ship we went on and found it easy to move around and never too crowded.

We have already booked our cruise for next year on the Liberty out of Galveston, Texas.

Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Warning: Smile to show you are happy! by Morethunder

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I tend to focus on the positive things in life,  but this cruise was really disappointing.  My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday and our 25th anniversary. So we decided to try Royal Caribbean based on the "upscale reputation". It started out horribly with the incredibly unorganized port (4hrs) in Galveston and ended the same way.   We have cruised before during January, so we know that the weather can be a factor, but this ship has an extreme sway to it even in not so rough weather. Also there are limited things to do if you can't go outside.  While we enjoy meeting new people and spending time at the bar/lounges, there isn't much else to due but  drink and shop at the same shops each day.  The inside promenade is not large enough for all the passengers to stroll through comfortably. It would help if there wasn't "sale" tables every few feet.  Some days it felt like it was a mad dash through an after x-mas clearance sale, no joke!   The most disappointing thing for us was the food.  Both the selection and availability has changed.  The included food in the buffet line, was repetitive and difficult with the other hundreds of people trying to eat at the same time, because there are such limited hours of operation.  The dining room food was good (not great selection) and the service was wonderful,  but the hours to eat, again limited....  Unfortunately, it felt like it was on purpose to force you to purchase your food at the other restaurants. We spent A LOT more money than we have ever spent before on a cruise for on board expenses, not counting excursions.

The Staff and service people were absolutely the Best !!  The Virtual Window in the interior cabins only on Deck 10 are amazing. The décor is very beautiful,  But the ship is not as accommodating as others.  By the 4th day, we knew we would not take a cruise with RC Navi of Seas again...  Sorry ;(

Cruise was OK, not the best but not the worst either.  Biggest complaint -we never received our $100 onboard credit.

Really enjoyed our meal at Giovanni's Table. Did not use any of the other special restaurants

Good convient value for the cost. by tomroe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed this experience.  After this experience, we have decided that "large ship" cruises do not fit our travel needs.  Royal Carribean does an exceptional job as far as service and attention to detail.  This experience was an excellent value for the cost.  Sharing the experience with 3600 other folks did not provide a quiet relaxing get away.

Not impressed with RC - prefer Carnival by NannyKim

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

After sailing with Carnival we decided to "upgrade" to RC for a more adult cruise experience.  We heard RC catered toward a more mature group of people.  By that they mean everything closes early.  Finding food after 10 pm was horrible.  Only one small place had cold sandwiches, leftover desserts and not so great pizza.  Even the ice cream machines were turned off as soon as dinner was over.  The "guest star" shows were great but the onboard performers were so-so.  The employees were great but appeared to be shorthanded all the time.  I had heard about RC's midnight buffet with fruit carving - not on this ship.  And deportation was horrible!  Took over 2 hours once our number was called.  I've never waited that long with Carnival.  I'm glad we tried it because now we know - back to Carnival.

trip by charlie2play

The staff on the ship was just wonderful. It was our wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday. I would have like to see more of a variety of sales items. We went to 3 out of the restaurants and had an awesome time. I thought they would have did a little more for a celebration besides a singing but in all the trip was great.

Good wholesome fun for the family by aalamo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

PROS:   -Room was spacious (we had the large Oceanview room towards the front of the ship)! -Our room attendant, Wesly, was very warm and accommodating! -The servers at the Cafe Promenade were very friendly! -Our servers at the Sapphire Room, Erdal & Sylvia were great! -One particular server at the Windjammer Cafe, Jeffrey, was great! -The entertainment most nights were very well put together and kept us entertained.  Our kids' favorite was the ice show.  The Cruise Entertainment Director and Manager were both excellent. -Fitness center had a good variety of cardio machines and weights.   -Sports activities were great- consider having a 3 on 3 basketball and soccer tournaments for kids 12 and under.

CONS: -All 4 Sea passes would not open the door to our room.  We had to go and stand in line with Guest Services 4 different times and they were less than accommodating and even looked annoyed that we kept coming back. -The Shore Excursion to Escape to Bacab in Belize had misleading information about a Butterfly Pavillion.  Our tour guide told us during the ride there that the pavillion had been closed for renovation and should take that off of the excursion description.  We were also told that we can book horseback riding when we got to the location.  This was not the case as by the time we got to the location, the horseback riding tour had already left.  We were told by the Guest Services desk that we would be refunded for this only to have the Shore Excursion desk call us in our room to let us know that they had not approved this refund.  After a few back and forth calls, we expected this excursion to be credited to our account.  However, it still showed up on our final bill.  We had to, again, stand in line at Guest Services for 30 minutes during the last day of our cruise to get this settled.   -At the Sapphire Room for breakfast, my husband requested for steamed rice and was told there was not rice available anywhere on the ship.  We realize that this is not a common breakfast item but we were told by staff that we can make special requests. -Update your karaoke list!  :)  Common songs like Rolling in the Deep by Adele was not on the list. -Add a sign on the running track to indicate that walkers need to stay on the right lane so that runners/joggers don't run into them.  Left lane should be for the faster runners or for overtaking.

Navigator of the Seas Dec 2014 by jacquibryant

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I did have a problem with lost baggage and had to go all day Sunday and most of Saturday without a change of clothes. The only compensation that I was offered was a t-shirt to sleep in. However, I did receive several phone calls from cruise services updating me on the fact that they were still trying to locate my bag and a follow-up to make sure that I had eventually gotten it back... kudos to Terrence Edwards for his concern and efforts. I  would have to give horrible ratings for embarkment and dis-embarkment practices of the Galveston port that could make or break this cruise. We have decided to think twice about any future cruises going out of Galveston due to such terrible organization. There is no excuse for being forced from your stateroom at 8 AM and still be trying to dis-embark at 11:45 AM. The cruise itself was very enjoyable but I would recommend another line leaving from a better port. As a frequent cruiser I suggest Galveston take some pointers from Ft Lauderdale!

Everything was Excellent except for Customs by shannalg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall, I had an excellent vacation.  I'm not sure how I could really complain, I do have some warnings listed below though.  But even then, the service you get on RCI can't be beat for the price and I'd recommend it to all my friends.

The main dining room was delicious for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  The buffet is not my favorite, but that's more of a preference than a slam at the windjammer.  I just don't like the crowds and prefer the excellent service you get in the main dining rooms.

The ship was very clean and had staff busy all over keeping everything shiny and smudge free.  They had hand sanitizer stands everywhere...no Norovirus for me thanks.

The only issues I had may not be RCI related, but anyone going on the ship should still know, so I've listed them in tips.  They involve the cattlecall at Galveston that is worse than any other ship i've disembarked and the long lines to get back on the ship at ports (mostly Cozumel).

Royal Caribbean is one of my favorite cruise lines for the money and their value really can't be beat.  They have excellent food, entertainment, and service.

words can't express!!! by Wilspo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First cruise ever so nothing to compare it to, but we have taken many other trips and vacations. This was by far the best trip/vacation we have ever taken. The ship was superb. The service was top notch. The shows and entertainment was feminine and Broadway worthy. The food was excellent and the variety far superceded iur expectations. Cant wait for our next cruise. This may have been our first but definitely will not be our last. We encountered many with numerous cruises under their belt, 44 being the most, and we certainly understand why.
