We were disappointed by Navigator of the Seas this time. The staff were not friendly or accommodating. The food and service were disappointing this time. It's a nice ship though and pretty easy for us to get to, so it's kind of a shame.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food quality was noticeably worse that last year when we took the same cruise on the same ship.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Onboard activities were ok, but we were angered by the pool staff who wouldn't let our 4 year old ride the slide even though he was right at the height needed to ride.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Entertainment was meh... the lead singer didn't have a great voice. The dancers were very good. The musicians were pretty good, but nothing spectacular.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
We loved the adventure ocean and our son did too. They were very friendly and our son never wanted to leave, so we were happy about that.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The stateroom attendant was missing in action, and on the rare sightings was not particularly friendly.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
RC always does a good job of keeping the ship clean, and this time was no different.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Can't expect much from an interior cabin, and we don't spend much time in it, so it was fine.
Ship tip
It's an older ship, but we still love the Royal Promenade and the venues on it. I recommend eating at the Cafe Promenade or Main Dining room as much as possible as the buffet is always packed and its not always easy to find a place to sit.
We love PV. Very safe and friendly city. The Malecon (boardwalk) is great to walk down. The beaches are sometimes rocky but otherwise very nice. Also can be a little hot and humid.
You should have been happy that they put safety above anything else with the slides. I’m confused that you claimed your stateroom attendant was missing in action yet you also stated that you were barely in your stateroom. Seems like the attendant did his/her job you just weren’t around to see it.
Yeah they are pretty strict on cruise ship activities. If you need to be taller than a line and you’re just at the line, then you’re not riding. Safety is paramount when you are so far from a hospital. They even weighed my seven year old skinny grandson to make sure he wasn’t over 250 lbs.
