Review summary

Kids loved it, and so that is all that really counts. Way too much time waiting for elevators. Also we had to get cards for two of the rooms changed six times because of continuing issues with cards not working. Was a real pain and inconvenient.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
issues with two of the six of us and documents. even though we got all tickets at the same time. then rooms we paid for were not available. so we were moved up to another room, with a balcony. but for the first day, we were given interior cabins and were asked not to unpack.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Staff was awesome and super helpful. They were amazing. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the food which was mostly average and and even subpar in some cases. Some examples: Ordered a steak well done which came rare. Order the crab cake appetizer and they tasted terrible, only to find out later that they were made from imitation crab meat. Desserts were all good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I played table tennis, water slides, hot tubs and shows. yes, i enjoyed them but things like basketball were not possible since it was always so crowded.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
very good. went to two shows and two late night music performances.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
waiters and room stewards were awesome. guest services had some surly characters who were frankly not helpful at times when we were having problems accessing our rooms and had to have room cards replaced six times.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
pretty good. wish there was more time for basketball and other sports. sports court was always super busy.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very well maintained and cleaned. Attendant was awesome and super friendly and available.

Ship tip

boarding and deboarding can take a very long time. i would wait until the last minute to depart. do a shore excursion in Ensenada.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

just went to depart. did not see anything local.

Catalina Island, California

5 out of 5
beautiful, easy walking, nice restaurants.

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
a little scummy, had to take a shuttle in town. i would have done a show excursion here since there was nothing really to see in town other than some good food.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
excellent because we had my invalid mother in law in a wheelchair.

Glad you mostly enjoyed the cruise. Good advice about not rushing off the ship, assuming you don't need to catch a plane. Instead of waiting for an elevator to take you to the sports court, you could just take the stairs. It's good exercise and the elevators won't be crowded, if those who can, take the stairs.
