Review summary

Great itinerary, however many of the crew seemed tired or "elsewhere" mentally. We witnessed some verbal fighting between servers in the dining room. And with the ship getting ready for an overhaul, it seems much of the crew was ready for the break. With that said, the staff in the Windjammer more than made up for the dining room staff! They were pleasant, and helpful and made our meals a pleasure (as we tried the dining room only 2 times with bad results both times). Our cabin steward was the best we have had on any of our 16 cruises to date.

The servers in the main dining area were tired, slow, and bickering. The staff in the Windjammer (buffet) was awesome, helpful and kind

The hot tub in the spa area was cold the day we tried it. The sauna and steam room worked great!

We were on Navigator last Feb and spoke with one of the dining room staff. He said they are on board 6 months at a time and work 7 days a weeks then off for 4 months. I can't even begin to imagine having to try to make people happy 7 days a week for 6 months straight, especially with how some people can be so demanding and demeaning to waite staff. Not to mention if there is another staff member you don't get along with, you are stuck with them every day for 6 months. I'm surprised the staff on ships are as pleasant as they are. I know I couldn't do it lol. We not only tip our ship staff extra, we also daily let them know how much we appreciate them and the hard work they do to make our trip pleasant.
