Review summary

My family and I have been on cruises before and overall we had a good time.  Some things could have been better as far as more exciting entertainment.  Our dining wait staff (Chalton in particular) were excellent, professional and we could tell that they really enjoyed their jobs. A couple of other things that should have been more organized was getting off the ship at Grand Cayman Islands.  We didn't get off the ship until about 1pm and had to return to the ship by 4:15pm (that was the last departing tender).  No one stated that we needed tickets to get off the ship and because we didn't have tickets, we had to wait.  That was very disappointing.  Also, my mom was not happy with her room because there was to be a pull out sofa not a bunk from the ceiling.  When she called guest services, the staff (Oscar) told her "You get what you pay for".  What we paid for was not to have some jerk talk to my mom in that manner and what we paid for was expensive.  But, my family enjoyed our time together over the Thanksgiving 2015 holiday.  We had fun, laughs and more laughs.  Oh yeah, shout outs to Ron from Jamaica (Bar staff)!  He really made our trip fun. And shout out to Dwayne (room attendant). He was great!  I would take another cruise on Navigator of the Seas, it was a great ship and really clean.  Just need to be a little bit more organized when tendering to ports.

We were on this same cruise too. We also didn't know you had to have tender tickets and were told we probably wouldn't get off the boat until after noon. Well we knew we didn't want to wait that long so we decided to go up to the excursions desk and purchased an island tour and tiki beach break and were able to get off the boat immediately. Just an idea for next time! It worked out perfect for us.

Any tips for getting an early tender at Grand Cayman when you have not booked an excursion through Royal Caribbean?

Needing tickets to tender. Is this something NEW? When I was there last March on the Independence, we didn't have or need tickets. Unless it was included in our excursion.

usually there are announcements about getting tender boat tickets before the ship anchors. as far as the sofa bed goes, there are different catagor ies is cabins for triple or quad occupancy, on a deck plan there are symbols indicating the types of beds. Uppers are called Pullman's. It would be the fault of the individual who chose your cabin as to what kind of bed you got If you booked into a "guarantee" you are at the mercy of the cruise line. Next time ask more questions when booking, Oscar shoulndt have said that
