We did 7 day trip... by dyers

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Sinfonia

We did 7 day trip from Venice. Lots of positives, nice ship, friendly helpful staff. Food in the restaurant was good but not so good in the buffet. Not so much choice and quite repetitive menu. Had a lovely day in Split. Santorini was great but needed more time there. Had evening stop in Mykonos. Didn’t enjoy Ancona. Not much to see or do. Entertainment was mostly designed for Italian passengers so we didn’t take part. Shows were good when we could get in but were just singing and dancing. Would I do MSC again in the Mediterranean I have to say no.

Just got off the Mediterranean... by Catsam215

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Sinfonia

Just got off the Mediterranean Cruise from Venice 9-08-18 to 9-15-18. It was ok. This was our 10 Msc Cruise. 2nd Mediterranean. They changed a lot of things. No coffee in the main dining room at dinner??? American people have desert with coffee after dinner. They don’t have any free drinks at the buffet. They used to have juices. The entertainment was terrible. The shows were the same type every night. No band, just recorded music. The next act came in before the previous performance was done. The animation or games by the people. Very quite. Not much of a dining room menu either . They disembarkation was a nightmare. We did carry your own luggage. They never told us we had to go to the 4th floor to disembark. We had to wait on the 5th then carry them downstairs. Every island took at least an hour or more to get off. I never realized the times we had in each island. Mykonos was a joke. An hour to get off, then a ferry , we had to wait for that to fill up before leaving. The lighting in my inside room was horrible. Ship was ok. Met some great people at dinner in main dining room.

Great honeymoon in the Mediterranean by Agoldstein

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I generally enjoyed our time on the MSC sinfonia for our honeymoon. The food and service were very good, and I liked the list of locations that we were going to. However, there was so little time to spend in many of the ports of call, and I would recommend letting guests know if stairs or other options are available in lieu of cable cars, as we waited an hour and a half for one, and we got in line right after our excursion ended. The food in the restaurants was great, but the lunch buffet could have used a better selection. Our waiters and room attendants, Eka, Wiguna, and Luciano, were very nice and professional, and did a great job. As part of the aurea experience, I enjoyed the free massage, unlimited drinks, and priority embarkation and disembarkation. The excursions were interesting and relatively well organized. I would cruise with msc again, they are a great value for the price paid.

Trip of a lifetime by dinamig

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

First Mediterranean cruise and overall we loved it! Glad we picked MSC Sinfonia as our first. The size of the ship was perfect as we could get from one front to the back in 5 minutes. Port stops were great, enjoyed Croatia the most. We will cruise MSC again! Two disappointing things. First the spa staff was way to pushy on upselling. Not even one minute after massage and Anika starting pushing merchandise and additional services. Unfortunately for them they refused to listen to what we wanted to do and continued to push additional services we were not interested in purchasing. Since they didn’t listen to us (the guests) we didn’t purchase any additional spa services. So sad as we really wanted more services. Second was our cabin steward. We had a language barrier as well as he continually insisted we leave our room so he could clean or do our turndown service.

Just finished my first MSC... by michelle1005

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Sinfonia

Just finished my first MSC cruise. It was wonderful! The ship was simplistic elegance. The cabin efficiently laid and our cabin 1091 was well attended twice a day by our steward. There was some noise from automatic sliding doors above us but was just a small issue. Food was good and service excellent. My only disappointment was port time in Santorini and Dubrovnik. It was misrepresented on the cruise details but we made the most of our limited time in each port. My absolute favorite port was Dubrovnik. It did not feel crowded and the sights were stunning.

Never again! Poor service and cheated! by ColleenKrog

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: River Cruises - Egypt/Africa

If it were not for the excellent company of my girlfriends this would have turned into a nightmare. We thought that ghis was an excellent wat to celebrate us all turning 40 this year, but what a disappointment. Poor food and soft drinks included in price and drinks available for sale expensive and poor quality. The beverage packages are sly way to make you think you are saving whilst half the time the deals offered are not available. Manynof the staff members were surly and rude. To top it all off one our friends had irregularities with her cruise card being used to make purchases by someone else for large amounts of money . I have been on a few other cruises with other companies before which I found enjoyable. I can never recommend MSC to anyone.

we liked the ship. it... by nadine30040

we liked the ship. it was above our expectations. the bathroom is rather small, but the renovation has been done thoroughly. There are no speciality restaurants , so if you are a black level on Voyager you get a free meal in a speciality, but since there was none ....

Nice ship but king of small and with a small number of facilities, the Italian and Indian staff was very rude. I recommend this ship to families with small children because there were many activities for them and a nice water park

We want to thank everyone on the MSC Sinfonia - OUR WEDDING WAS PERFECT by MelodieSteyn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: River Cruises - Egypt/Africa

From the moment we stepped on board the MSC Sinfonia we felt special.  We had a wonderful week but we must say that Valentines Day was extra special as we had our wedding on the ship.  It was so romantic and the cake was divine.  An Officer even escorted me to the wedding venue and that made me feel very special.  Later that night when we returned our cabin was beautiful decorated and a sign on the door read "Do not disturb - Just Married" That definitely put a smile on our faces. We will always cherish this cruise and plan to cruise again soon.

Thank you for an awesome unforgettable romantic experience.

We have done 2 cruises... by Anitad7008

We have done 2 cruises on the Sinfonia and had a great time. First time the food was devine. Second time the breakfasts could have been a little better. Not as much variety. But overall quality for money.

Don't waste your time or money cruising on the MSC Sinfonia by IanFSA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

1) Crew attitude (apart from waiters) rude, short and couldn't care less. 2) Food, (Was promised it would be amazing) was super average. 3) Prices all in US$. It becomes evident that MSC are going to wring every last cent out of you at any opportunity! 4) Drinking water, not available for free other than on deck 11. A sign on the deck 11 water dispenser saying that you may not fill your own water bottles due to hygiene means that you are forced to pay for clean drinking water by buying it or using mini bar water.  5) Queues. Be prepared to queue for EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. 6) Entertainment, sub standard and bland. Staff have a no-care attitude, you can see they are just going through the motions. 7) Constant PA announcements mean that you are constantly bombarded by noise. When disembarking from the MSC Sinfonia onto Portuguese island there are disembarkation announcements every 15 minutes for 3-4 hours. Should you decide to stay behind on the ship you have to endure the same message over 16-20 times in the morning. Unbelievable! 8) Be prepared to be charged $1,50 for a Unicef fund raising initiative. Unless you specifically request not to be charged by MSC, they will dock the amount from your bill. Requesting that the charge be removed involves waiting in queues to get to a service consultant at reception. Surely this should be an opt IN service and not an opt OUT service?

Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing and "different" holiday, I suggest you stay far away from MSC Cruises in South Africa. You would be well advised to spend your money elsewhere.

Great experience especially as a first time cruiser. I enjoyed the crew they were very helpful, great choice of food. The south African public however eat tons of food and waste huge amounts. That’s the only fault. by PeterAmos

So it was our first cruise. We were worried about sea sickness but hey big ship little movement so we were fine. The food was fantastic with lots of variety. I would recommend cruises to my friends and we plane on going again.

Don't Bother by DianeTass

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I have been on a number of cruises and never felt the need to write a review until now.  If you are considering a cruise onboard the MSC Sinfonia here is what I would say:

Pros:  the ports were beautiful (Salerno, Genoa, Ibiza, Olbia, etc.) and the ship was clean.  The food was average, I've had worse on other cruise lines.  The EXTERNAL entertainers were very good and fun to watch, particularly the Spanish dancers.

Cons:  the embarkment process, like most of the processes on board the ship, were disorganized and slow.  Different passengers embarked at different ports so it felt like a hop on/hop off bus more than a custom cruise.  Staff were indifferent and generally unfriendly.  They took no interest in the passengers.  In fact, there was little attention to customer service anywhere on board.  If there was a cruise director, I didn't see or hear from him or her...or the captain for that matter.  The manager of the dining room was rude and unaccommodating.  Excursions were poorly orchestrated, short, and generally not worth the value.  Our second excursion left one hour late and it was absorbed by the passengers, even though sufficient time was left before boarding the ship.  When I complained, I was told it wasn't their problem (my opinion:  maybe they don't run the excursions but they damn well represent them).  Internal entertainers (the "regulars") were untalented and the choreography was pathetic.  You had to pay for water.  Photographs were average and posed.   Even the swimming pool experience was awful - the water was cold and changed nightly with the ocean water.  Children were allowed to run rampant (and loudly) around the ship without any supervision.

MSC would be well served to see how the real cruise lines do it so they can improve.  My biggest gripe was they didn't seem to care.  There was no attention to the customer experience whatsoever.  My advice:  pick another line.  There are many good ones out there:  Royal Carribean and Norwegian being two of them.

The crew were very nice and the entertainment was great. Enough food all day. I liked that the ship was small, thats\'s why we chose it. We didn't want to feel lost on a big liner

Enjoyable Cruise by LindaJ10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

While the ship and staff were excellent, none of us speak Italian, so we felt we were at a little bit of a disadvantage. We found some of the other passengers to be quite rude and pushy. But overall, we enjoyed the cruise very much.

Pasta, Pleasure, and Beautiful Ports by TerreB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

After a disorganized departure in Livorno, Italy, we thoroughly enjoyed MSC's Sinfonia. There were few Americans aboard, but we enjoyed the mix of Italians, Spanish, Germans, and other English speakers. The food, Italian, was great and we enjoyed many dishes that we had only read about.
