Overall, we found our experience with MSC Cruises to be very disappointing. We have limited cruise experience, but this was my least favorite cruise line of the three I’ve traveled on my cousin, had some friends on the ship as well, and they expressed the same views, even though we had no contact on ship.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Everything went smoothly until we got to our cabin, and the keys didn’t work.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
In the main dining room, the service was disappointing. We had to ask every night for additional water, ice, tea, and bread. The food itself was nothing spectacular. Buffets we’re overcrowded on at sea days. Selection of foods was basically the same every day with minor variations.
Onboard Activities

Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were good. Especially the tribute to Elvis and Michael Jackson (Starwalker).
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
The best service we received was from the room store wards. All other staff was mediocre at best. They were friendly just not very helpful and not very customer service oriented.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
We found the ships layout to be very confusing. When trying to get to the Buffet on deck 16 we had to go up to 18 cross over the specialty restaurant and then come back down to 16. Signage also was lacking although they were interactive maps everywhere. It was difficult at times to tell which direction you were headed forward or aft.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Size of the cabin was ample, actually bigger than I expected. We really enjoyed having a balcony off our room.
Ship tip
Try to book your cabin, closer to the rear of the ship, where the buffets are located for ease of access
Disembarkation was not as cumbersome as I had expected due to the compartmentalization and organization. However, the retrieval of luggage was chaotic. We had four bags, and none of them were together for collection prior to going through customs.
