We go on many cruises. Holland Am. food is SO much better, and will NOT allow the guests to touch the food. It is behind glass and "they" serve you, which is SO much cleaner on a boat of 5,100+ people. Food in marginal, but the staff was nice and polite. We had the base liquor package which was extremely limited on brand quality. MSC; probably not again.

The specialty restaurants were great - the buffet's we marginal at best.
Onboard Activities

Non of these were of real interest to us. Too old for rock climbing and by fitness days are coming to a halt.
Entertainment

The shows we saw were better than average
Service and Staff

Our steward was nothing special. We had to ask him several times for towels, etc., and getting someone to answer the phone was absolutely impossible!
Ship Quality

All in all it was clean, but we had to clean our deck table most every time we went out to have a drink and or play cards. Drink staff was rarely around as well.
Cabin / Stateroom

Comfortable bed, small bathroom, but then again, it is a cruise ship and we had an interior room.
I never like Miami. 7 days of parking was almost $160. Ft. Lauderdale is less than half of that. Not real clean and very old. But getting on the ship was a breeze.
We were not allowed in. This was the main reason we booked the cruise. Other ships went in, Carnival for example, but not us. Very disappointed to say the least.
We cruised MSC in February and out party of 18 thought it was FABULOUS- food was great (except the duck) the shop was STUNNING and the staff went over and above with service fabulous time by all and we will sail MSC again. We are sailing NCL Breakaway this February and they have ALOT to measure up to.
Interesting comment about the food. I have cruised Holland America twice, and was not impressed with their food and hated the fact that you had to have someone serve you at the Buffet and could not serve yourself. It took forever to get through the line and there was no rhyme or reason to which end of the line to start.
