Review summary

We enjoyed our cruise, but not so much the cruise ship. Although many things on the ship are beautiful, the rudeness of the staff and other guests overpowers it's beauty. We chose this cruise because it went to 3 ports that we had never been to, but always wanted to go to. And we looked forward to trying a new cruise line, as we had previously sailed with only Carnival Cruise lines.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Staff was friendly and embarkation was stress free.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food that we ate at the buffets was good. I cannot speak for the dining rooms because we were not permitted to eat there because we didn't bring the correct shoes and were not informed prior to boarding. (No tennis shoes allowed). And don't expect to find a clean table in the buffet area, inside or outside.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The ship has several entertainment areas but we did not use them

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We attended 2 shows: Wizard and StarWalker. Both shows were excellent.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The staff was more interested in swiftly getting from point A to point B on the ship. We were bumped into numerous time by the staff in the buffet area, with no acknowledgement or apologies.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The layout and design were fine. However the common area were not kept as clean as other cruise line ships we have sailed on.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The bed was a bit too firm. The overall size was good, however the bathroom area was on the small side. And more clothing storage areas are definitely needed.

Ship tip

The guests from some of the other countries are rude and expect long waits for the elevators.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
a beautiful city, but you only have a few hours of daylight due to your arrival time. Don't plan on going to far into the city.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Loved it! We swam with sea turtles in the morning, and did some shopping that afternoon. Friendly local inhabitants.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

2 out of 5
Lots of jewelry shops with lots of rude, almost hateful, jewelry shop employees.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
We have visited Nassau several times, and each time we do a self-guided tour with a little bit of shopping. Do not go more than a few blocks from the cruise terminal area for safety reasons.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and efficient.

Glad you did enjoy the cruise. I think we all find our favorite ships.

Both my son and I had no issues with casual trainers (tennis shoes) in the MDR.

Was on the ship 2 weeks before, no footwear problem. I always wear a tie and jacket on the formal nights but smart casual is not that strict. You pay good money for a cruise, and that includes a 3 course meal every night. I walked in with sneakers twice and no one said a word. I've seen people in shorts and a tank top on formal nights. While I dont agree with it, it happens. Sorry you had to miss the dining room experience, but I would have walked right back in again.

One person having a bad experience doesn't mean it happens to everyone.
