Review summary

I went on this ship with open expectations since I normally sail on Carnival. I can honestly say the embarkation was basically a breeze especially compared to how bad Carnival's is...may have been due to checking in at 3:30. The muster drill was a joke. There were folks still coming in while the drill was going on. I don't think we were told how to get to the lifeboats either. This is a very nice ship and has nice features. The majority of the time, I ate at the buffet. While the food is better than Carnival's(in my opinion), the selections did not varied much. I did eat at Teppanyaki's one night and the experience was good but different from what I am accustomed to. My experience in the MDR was mediocre. The wait time for the food to be brought out was slightly lengthy. The waiter did not refill your water glasses unless you asked him to. The dishes were small portioned and just ok. I did love the fact that I could get a can drink as well as a bottle of spring water everyday with my drink package. My balcony room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was too small especially the shower stall. I don't think they put much thought into how much space would be needed in the shower area. Because of the location of my cabin(under the Biscayne Buffet and the Miami Beach pool deck), I heard running all day long. And the music into the AM. The activities were lacking in my opinion. The water park area was very nice. Other activities that were offered on the ship required you to pay for them and to me depending on what it was, it could be costly. It seemed like you had to pay for so many things. One of my main complaints was how rude fellow passengers were. It was like they had no concept of what "Excuse me" is. I personally did not like having to wait until the day of disembarkation to close out my account and standing in a line. But I did like the fact that I could walk right off the ship as soon as clearance was given. Overall, my time on the ship was not bad. I would not be quick to book this ship again any time soon but I am not totally dismissing it either.

Grumpytexan , First person i've seen use "most Europeans" as there is. Huge difference between Europeans snd their Cultures and how they Socialise. Mediterranean countries prefer a more relaxed laid back experience, enjoy their time where as the western Europeans are more full on. Then the Nordic states, Eastern Europeans and Baltic states all Socialise differently. Have to say though the worst cruise passenger i've ever experienced was American with a sense of entitlement. Then again some of the best i've met have been americans also.

I will admit though with 22 years military experience, most Europeans don’t socialize as much when on vacation or day to day. Us Americans can be a little overwhelming for some cultures. At this point, I feel most cruisers who chose MSC should know that by now. If they still choose to go, it’s on them.

I have heard by many people that the guests are rude!! That stinks, your on vacation and it’s great to meet people, smile, say hello and have conversations with strangers. I hate when people are rude and don’t have manners. We are going on this ship in January and I am hoping for the best.
