Review summary

The cruise ship itself is breath taking. However the cabin is extremely small, very little storage, very little space to put a playpen. Was on a balcony on the 12th floor, the Stewart was inappropriately looking at our 16 year old daughters throughout the whole vacation. The dinner was not good at all. The first day the water gave all of us a party of 12 diarrhea, the toilet was not flushing and smell like sewer. They was not organized in terms of knowing where to send people for the sea card. The buffet sometime the food was undercooked or overcooked, they gave the same thing over and over, the juices was watering, they barely had whole milk throughout the whole day for the babys 1-2. No chairs in the water park, they water down the liquor, the comedy show was not funny, elevator was ridiculous very hard to move around in the elevators, no lotion, no conditioner in our bathroom. Had to pay for ice cream beside lunch. Not everything on the cruise ship was free, had no life jackets for children and they had no life jacket to sell in the shops. We've been on Disney, Norwegian, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and this is the first time that we see there's no life jackets next to thw pool and they also have no 24 hour customer service when it comes to paying the balance. We went at 3 in the morning so we wouldn't have to wait and was told that we had to go by 6 if we were paying cash. Staff at the customer service desk she had an extreme attitude she look like we was a bother to her. The photographers and the staff that work at photos all had attitudes except for one. The infant Club I felt that it was a short time because by the time you drop them off and had to battle the elevators you pretty much had to return back to pick them up. For the kids club you have to put them on a list for dinner if not you had to pick them up while other cruises they had accommodation for all the kids. They kept telling us that there was not enough space for all the kids. I had a unlimited digital package for photos but the kids club made me pay for their photos there. The staff was always with a unhappy face they look mean half the time nobody was smiling they was complaining to us how they are overworked and not too much pay instead of just smiling and making us want to give them tips and travel again. The live music band was awful they may majority of the music parties on deck 7 instead of doing on the pool deck. And what I fear the most on that cruise ship that I saw with my eyes was that they allow anybody to get off the ship meaning miners. My 6 and my 8 year old show them their card and they let them bought out without asking where's your parents or anything. I felt there's no safety when it comes to children. For all the money that you spend to take a cruise especially a MSC Cruise I expected more. Carnival which is considered one of the low start cruise has better safety bigger rooms better food happier staff then this cruise ship very disappointed.

seem to want a nanny instead of a family vacation

I think from your review, Carnival is more family friendly for you. Your complaints seem genuine but this a European ship and they do things differently. And they don’t cater to children like the American cruise lines do.

Most of the stuff you complained about is the same among most main cruiselines. It's a ship, the rooms are going to be small..etc

Cruises are not for this person. And the 6 and 8 year old children should have PARENTAL supervision unless they are in the kids club.

Your room steward could have provided lotion and conditioner if you had asked. We had a staffer, an entertainer, on the Divina wooing my widowed older friend. He was after her and made no bones about it. It got scary. Neither of us will cruise MSC again. The folks who ordered seafood in the dining room got the better food. My vegetarian fare was really bad. There was a lot that I liked about MSC. I think that line is a work in progress.

Life jackets? You mean water wings? Like blowup ones that you can easily pack?
