Review summary

We have enjoyed our two cruises with MSC but found the volume of passengers a little overwhelming. We will look for a smaller ship for our next cruise.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Our embarkation experience was easy and fairly quick for the volume of passenger. The safety instructions/activity was chaotic as best and very disorganized for a ship this size and the volume of passengers. .

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The buffet was good but not great. The buffet was on one deck only which made the experience again chaotic with that volume of passengers. There was never enough ice or coffee and the selection was good at best. The main dining restaurant was great, the food was wonderful and the servers were wonderful. I feel the servers were pulled thin for the volume of passengers. One our other MSC cruise/Seaside there where two decks serving the buffet with less number of passengers. The selection of foods on the buffet were better and always enough ice, coffee AND tea.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pool and hot tubs were nice and the bars around the outside decks but not enough seating for size of the ship and volume of passengers. Tables meant to sit found only has 2 chairs. The lounge chair were always stacked and you would have to ask to get one down. The bar tenders was crazy busy - again to many passengers compared to the number of cruise employees (which were great). The casino, game room, sports bar were great and shops.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Great. We enjoyed the stage shows on Seashore and Seaside. We really enjoyed the comedy and stage shows. Our young adults enjoyed the White party, Sunshine parties as did we. As parents we enjoy the smaller venues.

Children's Programs

The game room was great even for young adults (116,17,18)

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service and staff were EXCELLENT! All we had interaction with were kind, helpful and humble - waiters, room stewards and others. I cannot brag on them enough. The ONLY concern I had - the guest services desk is in the middle of the deck with music, bar, and other activity and it made it hard for us to hear and communicate with each other.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very nice and clean. The ship is too large.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had three cabins total: 13060 11054 and 11181 (balcony) which we enjoyed but it was loud. We could hear everything from the cabin passengers beside us on each side.

Ship tip

the volume of people on the ship was overwhelming. The buffet could have been laid out better on deck 16 or open the other buffet dining area

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

No excursion

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We all loved the private island. We relaxed on the beach. No excursions.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
We enjoyed our time in Costa Maya. We did do an excursion; but not through the ship. We enjoyed it.

Cozumel, Mexico

Excellent. We did do an excursion but not through the ship. Snorkling. Beautiful

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Fast Track Disembarkation. We decided to handle our own luggage out. It was faster but found it again to be chaotic with the volume of passengers. I believe the staff did has well as they could.
