Embarkation

From getting out of our transportation to getting in the ship took about 10 minutes! Was super smooth! Probably the best I’ve ever experienced!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Never had a problem with any of the food on the ship! Main dining room took about an hour and 15-30 each night and never felt slow for our group of 6. All of our food was tasty and surprised us all despite many bad reviews! Loved it! . The Buffet always had a variety of options and was busy at times but never hard to move around. Great food there. We did Hola Mexican for a specialty restaurant and it was very very good!! Would 10/10 recommend. Loved the Al Pastor Taco the best. Overall the food was very good!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the adults only pool area the best! Usually less crowded than the Long island pool and jungle pool. The infinity pool will turn your feet or skin blue if you rub on the paint. The water slides were also a blast! The fitness center was very nice, but was a bit busy the two times I went.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The main theatre shows aren’t my thing, so I can’t speak on that much. If you like broadway/quirky theatre, you may like them more than I did. I do wish MSC had more shows like comedians or magicians. La Cabaret Rouge had some unique performances which was cool to see in a more intimate setting. The night club was fun in there too, but seemed a bit too young of a crowd. Wish they would implement a scanning card system like Carnival to weed out the 16 year olds. Was still a great time. The main atrium and Brooklyn Cafe also had some great voices to listen to!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was always very friendly and willing to help. There were a few times when bar service was slow, but not bad enough to find it an issue. Our room steward was very nice and friendly for us. Did everything we needed! Wait staff was great!! A special shoutout to the Sky Bar staff and Sports Bar staff. Always had great service at both.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Love the ship design and overall vibe of the ship. It feels very unique to MSC. I enjoyed it! I do think the ship is a bit more closed off in the sense of navigating it. I think the main areas always felt very clean and I always saw people cleaning it.

Cabin / Stateroom

Was a great Cabin and pretty good location in my opinion! Not too far from the gym or sports bar. Might need a deeper clean though…was dust on picture frames and in the door frames.

Ship tip

Don’t listen to the bad reviews. Although I’m sure some people may have had a different experience than I did, don’t stress. I would also advise to watch sitting on pool deck chairs toward the back. Some had soot on them and it will get in clothes. I would also say sunscreen or an umbrella for pool days. There isn’t the most amount of shade on the pool decks.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We did a private tour up the rainforest and then around San Juan. Was a great way to see it all. We then walked around the town which was beautiful. Loved San Juan and will go back for sure!

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

We really enjoyed the Taino Bay Port area. Really recommend that if you are looking for something cheap/free. The port has pools, a lazy river, lounge chairs, dj playing, and lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance of the ship. I will say the drinks and food in the port are expensive. Next time I would bring food from the ship off with us to eat. Really fun.

Nassau, Bahamas

Decent port around the ship. We did snorkeling which was great and super clear. We did an excursion through MSC Seahorse Sailing Adventure which had great staff.

Disembarkation

We did the express walk-off the ship which we thought would be easy but it was a bit confusing doing a maze through the entire 6th floor. I like the concept of the walk-off but wish MSC would do a 3 stage walk off or something to break up the rush of people. Once we were off the ship it was very smooth.
