Review summary

I think other cruise lines do a better job. MSC has some work to do to catch up to other cruise lines.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smothe, quick and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food looks pretty, but the quality is less than desired. The lobster was overcooked, and dry. The menu choices were less than stellar.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
They nickel and dime you for everything. Want to play pool? Pay for it. What to play other games/activities? Pay for it.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The entertainment we watched was very good. Talented performers.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Average staff. Not much interacting with guests. The experience with staff seemed corporate as opposed to mom and pop.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The top two decks were almost exclusivity limited to paid Yacht Club members. In reality, there are only 18 decks totally accessible to regular guests.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was well maintained and typical cabin size/comfort.

Ports of call

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas Did not visit port

Raained out. In fact the ship left port early to avoid rain.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
Beautifully developed port location.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarking was chaotic, disorganized and lacked control. It was a messy and stressful experience.
