Review summary

You will be disappointed with basic level of food. Make sure to double check where your room is in association with the noisy places in the ship. If they give you a free upgrade, make sure to question the downside of the surroundings. Also, make sure that the ship has features you are interested in, and if there are large areas block off to your enjoyment. I will not go on this ship again. So many people were disappointed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The buffet and assigned dining room food was the worst. Small portions in the dining room and probably straight from the buffet which had sparse selections. You will need to pay for specialty dining if you want a good food and enough to fill you up.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
I didn’t see the social activities in the common areas at all. There’s huge portions of the ship designated private for the “Yacht Club” that is commoners could not enjoy. Also, huge areas dedicated to the casino and shops. Also, huge area for the kids with flumes and such. If you’re not into gambling, don’t have kids with you and not in the “Club” you’ll be limited in your experience.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I was impressed with the stage shows and performances.

Children's Programs

I didn’t come with children and the huge children’s area was not of interest to me

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The room steward was very kind and accommodating as well as the waiters. Towards the end, it was difficult to get served drinks but I think they became short staffed towards the end.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It’s a new ship so everything was in good condition. I was overwhelmed with the mirrors literally everywhere. I would have preferred less bling. It was sensory overload.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Size: very roomy and clean. Unworkable: They gave us an upgrade of a huge walkout balcony. Unfortunately it was located just above a nightclub that didn’t shut down until nearly 1 AM. It was so loud in my cabin that I couldn’t even drown it out with my tv volume or earplugs. This room would only be okay if you’re a late night party person. Forget about getting any sleep. And they wouldn’t move us.

Ship tip

My cousins were in the Yacht Club area, and had an amazing food and service experience. If you choose MSC you’ll be disappointed unless you pay extra for specialty restaurants or sign up for the Yacht Club. Anything else and you’ll feel like the poor have-nots people

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
Great location for a port. Traffic was horrible to get there though

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
I took a taxi for a private tour away from the tourist shopping area. Be careful though. And only bring cash to spend. Be mindful of credit card scams

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

4 out of 5
I was quite impressed with the extent of walking paths, beach and swimming areas. Nice shops. The food line was horribly long and again, poor selection of food.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
A nightmare. They should have kept Covid protocols where passengers were released from their cabins by zones. It took over 3 hours of snaked lines around the ship to exit. Poor communication from the cruise director and staff.
