Review summary

When I originally booked this cruise I was so excited and looked forward to the great ports on the itinerary to include Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, & the Bahamas. This was down graded to 3 ports which i was disappointed but still excited. But after waiting over 3 hours to get on the ship, then the multiple issues with registering my credit card to my ship card, only being able to visit 2 ports on a 7 night cruise then have to change my flight and spend an extra night in Florida I'm truly disappointed. I've cruised over 12 times and this was the only time I've come away disappointed. I feel the cruise line had poor customer service and had no regard to how the passengers on this cruise were treated. they gave us a $100 credit and refunded our port charges for Nassau. That is not a fair compensation. I would expect something more like an apology and a 50% discount on a future cruise. after this experience I will not cruise with MSC Again.

Embarkation

Arrived at port and stood in line in the heat for 3 hours. Once we made it into the building it was another hour before we actually got on the ship. We never received an explanation as to what happen.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was wonderful. You just had to look around at all sections before deciding what you wanted so you would not miss anything. The Specialty restaurants were wonderful just need the staff to stop coming around so often trying to sale the specialty packages.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Activities on the ship were ok but recycled each day so after more than 2 days at sea it was very boring.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Shows were good but they need more variety in their DJ music selections. Every night we wanted to go hang out the music was the same House/Dance music. You can change it up a little.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff were wonderful and address every concern

Ship Quality

Beautiful ship all the way around

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was wonderful. Just wish they had outlets on each side of the bed.

Ship tip

Go to Kiosk to register your Credit Card to your ship card. This is not done as it normally is during your web check in.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Waited in heat over 3 hours to get on ship.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

Love a beach day. But when we wanted to catch the shuttle each time it cam the same passengers were on it so we would have to wait for the next one. More shuttles are needed. Then when we went to purchase gifts from the shops our cruise card would not work. Was told we would need to return to the ship to fix it. There should be an office in the same area as the shops to address any concerns instead of making us go all the way back on the boat to guest services.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Best part of this cruise. Enjoyed entire day at this port.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Was awaken early Thursday morning by an announcement that we had to turn around and return back to Puerto Rico due to medical emergency for 2 guest so we would not be able to make the stop in Nassau. Not only that but we would not be back in Miami until 1pm. This forced me to change my flight and have to stay hotel for an extra night.

Disembarkation

We were told we had to leave our cabin then was forced to stand in line for 2 hours waiting to get off ship during the express walk off.
