This was our 1st and last time on MSC. The ship is beautiful. There is nothing worth going back on this cruiseline again. I wish it would let me give an overall star rating. It's giving it a 3.2 or something. I wouldn't give it 3 out of 5. Maybe 1 or a 2 out of 5.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was very fast and well organized. Better than any other cruise that I have been on.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
We had 2 good dinners at the Aegean Restaurant. Other than that, the food was terrible. The pasta at the buffet was really good. They never changed the food items up at all the buffet. I forget the name of one restaurant we went to, we ended up walking out because the service was so bad, the manager chased after us to beg us to go back and have him fix things right for us. But we said no. My husband and son loved Hola Tacos.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Not much at all to do on this ship. There was barely any activities going on throughout the entire day.
The one thing that was cool was the 4D cinema. Robotron was fun.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
We went to Imaginocean and stayed for a while but walked out. It was more like a kids' show. They only had 1 comedy show on 1 night only.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
The staff was not friendly at all. You had to say hi to them, most of the staff wouldn't say hi to you 1st. We did have an excellent waiter in the Aegean Restaurant both nights we ate there. Our room steward was not friendly at all. I wish we had the room steward near our room. He was very friendly, always smiling and happy.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
It was a beautiful ship and a very nice layout.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was a suite aurea with whirlpool. It was very spacious. Great walk-in closet. The deck is smaller because you get the whirlpool. The whirlpool was great, my husband and son were like 2 kids in it.
I had no idea this is what our day in Puerto Plata, DR was about. You get off the ship at Taino Bay. It's very nice. There are a lot of cute little shops, places to eat, drink. There is a beautiful, huge pool, lazy river. You don't have to leave this area. We walked around Puerto Plata, ate there, and found an umbrella street that was very beautiful. I didn't know they had one. I only thought Puerto Rico did.
I have been to PR many times, it doesn't get old. We took our son to the Fort, he has never been there and my husband and I have. I finally found Fortaleza St, which is the umbrella street. It's beautiful. Ate at Raices and had our favorite pina colada from there.
I also forgot to mention, alcohol. I always get mudslides on my cruises, however, they were disgusting. Also, a Malibu bay breeze is such an easy drink to make, every bar we went to, the bartenders didn't know what went in them. They wanted to put orange juice or grapefruit juice in them. Some alcohol you would normally find in a cruise they didn't even have.
MSC Seaside is a very beautiful ship, but it’s kinda boring like the ship you mentioned. I came back May the 7th very sick with the flu, to many sick people there. After we came back, we read a review that said that MSC Seaside had not passed the CDC inspection.
Sorry for hear the complaint of your review, sometimes when cruising dont meet expectations No mather the Cruise Lines
Give MSC Time they re trying anything to improved even at slow pace
We absolutely expect a lot...Sometimes employees do not say hi or smile and some do. Just say hi..they respond. In fact in the morning it is busy. They all say hi to me..no matter the fleet.
Next time when you want to cruise, research on YouTube or go to the cruise line website.
Happy sails.
