Expect different. Msc don’t do the small things normal cruise lines do. Staff especially officers greeting you with a smile isn’t a thing. Actually they walk by u like I don’t exist. No communication from the ship to passengers and when we did get info most of time it was wrong.
Embarkation

We were told by MSC not to show up for embarkation until 3:30 which was very odd and uncomfortably late for us to get on ship. We usually abide by the embarkation process but on this one luckily we didn’t because we got there at 11:30 and went right on the ship no problem. One of many lack of communications from ship to us

All in all the food was decent. Nothing stuck out to me as amazing other than the donuts at the. Real fast buffet we’re really good. But the buffet area on this ship was the worst we have ever seen. I don’t know why they took such a large ship 5000 plus passengers and made such a small disorganized buffet. It was so bad we went hungry sometimes just to stay away. After 20 plus cruises worst we have ever seen. And the demographic of people on this ship either couldn’t understand English or plain didn’t care because everyone was so pushy and rude. I’m a big guy so I just started pushing my way through
Onboard Activities

Not a lot of activities that normal cruises have trivia etc. had some but I’m odd places like out side on the pool deck in the heat. We didn’t do much. Times of these activities were also very odd.

They shows were ok. Visuals were great vocals and performers were ok.

The staff for the most part were friendly. But MSC apparently don’t train their staff like other lines. I have never walked by an officer on this ship and they not said hello and smiled. I swear no officer ever acknowledged we was there. Room steward was great.

Decent cabin but wouldn’t stay they again not on port side on deck 9 or 10 in that area. The big hot tubs are on deck 8 and they are really loud all day and night long. It was the party spot.
Ship tip
Expect different. MSC Isn’t like other lines. After 20 cruises we know the norm and this wasn’t it. Very little communication such as never telling u when ship is cleared to get off at ports. We almost missed our Nassau excursion because we were told to wait for clearance from the ship that never came. Again we went some non our own and hundreds was already off. Not the cruise line for us. Won’t be back.
Again no communication. And then we we was told something it was wrong. We had a paid transfer to Miami airport through cruise line and was told to go to deck 7 and wait at 7:40 nobody was there to tell the ones what to do and the passengers that was in there didn’t speak English. So I walked down to 6 and was told to just get off the ship now in the line that was already wrapped around the ship. Horrible.
I agree ms kimmee. The kids were out of control. And there was more kids on this ship than on a Disney cruise. It was outrageous. And the people on this cruise were so rude and I don’t know just different. Guess it’s a cultural thing. We going back to the cruise lines we know and trust. Thanks but no thanks msc
I was on your same cruise! Although this was my third time sailing with MSC, I tried the yacht club this time. While there was plenty of lovely perks being in the yacht club, it definitely fell far from the experiences. I’ve had another cruise lines in the suite class. Since it is a in Italian cruise line, there are far more European passengers, especially families with young children. I did not appreciate parents, not controlling their children, especially in the bars and nightclubs. I see no reason to have a two year-old in a nightclub at 1 o’clock in the morning running around, screaming or sleeping in a stroller in the middle of the dance floor Just bizarre. Also, considering I was in the yacht club, I expected more communication with activities. We were never told anything and only found out through other passengers. They had special things lined up for us, that I absolutely had no clue about. I thought the ship was beautiful. I’ve had better food however, I did love my 24 hour room service pizza delivery I think that was the best part !
