Good experience by GregTan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Preziosa / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

As this is only my third cruise and my first in this area, my judgement might not be that fair, however I would like to share my feeling. In general it was good experience. beautiful ship, nice and clean cabin, very kind and helpful staffs, great itinerary and good amenities. For outdoor jog lover, you are able to run half of the ship only. The Gym is not bad but so hard to find free cardio machine on seadays. The complimentary meal is only served at the Inca Maya (buffet) and either Le Arabesque or Golden Lobster. The Inca Maya serves mostly european/wetern food, hardly asian and the theme is almost the same during the cruise. The menu for dinner at the restaurant changes every night but you are seated at the same table. Nice hospitality of the waiters at the restaurant, especially Dario cs at Le Arabesque table 823. Food taste ranges from mediocre to good. Theather show is below my expectation, no such great show at all. Their agggresive photographers team was a bit annoying, they were almost every where. Expecting lazy chairs around the solarium pool, but they are at upper mezzanine, so you have to go though the stairs all the time.

Once again MSC delivered an outstanding cruise and service! Two years straight with MSC (last year on Fantasia). And we love MSC. The ships are beautiful and the staff are the most amazing people. The food is good. Don't believe all the negative people, MSC ARE FANTASTIC!

We were onboard for 2... by Mareeandshane

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Preziosa

We were onboard for 2 weeks from 8 July to 22 August. Had a fabulous time. Ship was lovely. Food was ok. Bacony cabin was great. Staff were awesome. Special thanks to Randy, Chandra, Joanie and Dwi. Drinks package definitely was worth getting. Excursions were good. We did a mix of ship and private excursions. The only negative comments I can think of was the extremely expensive spa services and all the added service fees that were charged. However when I questioned the sevice fees and told they are optional and could pay whatever I felt was reasonable so that was not really a problem. Not many English speaking passengers but that was not necessarily a bad thing.

Thank you for the fine... by stenus

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Preziosa

Thank you for the fine cruise I enjoyed on board MSC PREZIOSA in may 2017 to Scotland and Ireland and for choosing my nearest port in Denmark being Fredericia as replacement on 15 June 2018 for a call at Bergen due to heavy storm. Within only 48 hours the cruise team of the port and the town managed to arrange excursions for 400 passengers and some 2000 passengers walked the short distance to the town center. Many thanks to the 2000 passengers who applauded at the gun salute and the band playing at departure. A beautiful ship in fine evening sunshine.

We were thinking 'have we... by Dondersteen

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Preziosa

We were thinking 'have we booked the wrong ship' based on the bad reviews but there was nothing to worry about. We also could not get in to Stockholm (june 5th) but had a wonderfull afternoon in Helsinki instead. If you go on a cruise: be flexible! Things can go other than planned. It's a ship, you have to deal with wind, technical problems etc. The ship is nice, staff is super friendly (just be nice and they will return it) and the cabin is big enough and is serviced twice a day. We ate mostly in L'Arabesque, which was good. Not huge plates full of food but more then enough for us. We did allways order a salad to go with the main dish because Italians do not seem to care much for veggies. The buffet is very busy but we were always able to find a table to sit at lunch or breakfast. Tea and coffee in the buffet should be used to flush toilets, the worst I ever had. But at Il Cappucino they make great coffee, so we had some there. The negative for us were the shows. Italians most be deaf because the sound was so loud we had to put fingers in our ears to dimm it. A shame, because the singers can sing! Also the lighting of the show was terrrible, most of the actors were dancing in the dark. Also the music in the lounges was way too loud for us exept at the Atrium, which is a great place to sit, enjoy music and watch people pass by. It was our first cruise and would we go on the Preziosa again? I think we might try to find a ship with other entertainment but with the right itinerary we would sail with this ship. Overall we had a wonderfull time! MSC is the cheeper cruise option and you will know that once you are on the ship. They will charge you for all the extra's. We knew that up front, so no problem there. Tips: Get yourself informed before you go on any ship. Read reviews, check videos on you tube etc. That prevents dissapointment. Do research off cabins. We choose the wrong one! 😉 Only myself to blaim. Sleeping right above a jazz club was not the right choice. I thought we would hear the music (which would have been okay) but all we heared and feeled were very strong bass tones. Go dine in The Golden Lobster or Arabesque. Very good service, nice food. Not 4 star quality but if you want that on this ship book the Yacht Club.

terrible by sambo1985

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Preziosa / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Terrible experience. First day they told us that we wouldn't go to Stockholm. There were technical problems with the ship. We had to wait for hours everywheren. The buffet was the worse, not even space to sit. The employees very rude and incompetent. Never again! Avoid cruising with MSC, especially this ship. Not worth the money

Worst holiday ever. Msc is not... by Katriny

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Preziosa

Worst holiday ever. Msc is not worth your money. We didn't port stockholm due to a 'technical maintenance'. They told us just 30 minutes after our cruise departure in Kiel. Instead we went half a day extra to sint petersburg (Instead of a whole day stockholm) There we couldnt get off the boat (only with ship visa) unless we payed for a very expensive and boring excursion by sightseeing bus. Almost every day they changed and cut the port hours for the next day. Impossible to plan something. The ship itself is very boring. The pools are so small, have a nasty green yellow collor and not all of them where open. The waterslide was open only for 2 hours during the entire cruise! Massive waiting lines for excursion desk, reception, embarking and disembarking The staff is very unfriendly. They dont come to you. You have to get your own drinks. The restaurants, bars and buffet are too busy. Once you finally find a seat, your food is already cold. You are obligated to sit with other people. Entertainement sucks. We will never go on a cruise again!! Msc is so bad organised in everything. We never got an explanation for not going to stockholm. They obligate you to book an excursion with them. They change everything last minute so you are only covered with their excursions.

Ship: MSC Preziosa

This ship is amazing! The... by CruiseShipLuver

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Preziosa

This ship is amazing! The restaurants are good, all though not many of them are complimentary. The buffet offers a good variety and the menu in the main dining room changes daily. There are many bars, my favorite being the diamond bar due to it's location in the ship. The crew was amazingly friendly and they helped us in any way they could. The ship was also easy to navigate through, and our balcony cabin was great: the toilet was the best i've ever seen on a ship. Spacious and felt like a toilet back in home! And lastly, the decor was modern and beautiful.

Never Again by JudyPWR

Would not use MSC again, really disappointing. Everyone we spoke to was complaining. I don’t like to spend my holiday that way. I’ve previously been on Royal Caribbean and they’re worlds apart.

Good enough by dougandjoan

Typical MSC. Expect less. Get what you expect. The overwhelmingly rude European cruisers were very off putting. But again, typical MSC. Great itinerary made it overall a great cruise.

We didn't board the ship... by whitywoo

We didn't board the ship with great expectations, just looking forward to getting away. This was due to the price we paid. Despite missing 2 out of the 4 scheduled ports, we loved it. Beautiful ship & excellent value.

We were onboard Preziosa from... by CruiseMonkeys

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Preziosa

We were onboard Preziosa from Southampton on the 4th of Oct. We had a really great cruise. Our ports were changed due to weather and strikes, but still had a fab time and MSC went above and beyond by providing a free bus and some OBC. Buffet was the best we have seen, but the MDR was a bit hit and miss. Service in the bars and restaurants was very good with staff making an effort to get to know you. You can see our video at: https://youtu.be/3OmNNmwJovQ The full review with pictures is on my blog at: https://holidaysatsea.co.uk/msc-preziosa-ship-review

The ship is absolutely beautiful,... by jason01443

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Preziosa

The ship is absolutely beautiful, easily the best ship I've been on so far. Staff are very friendly and the drinks package is good, it costs £26 per day and you can pretty much drink anything on the ship. The restaurant food was ok, nowhere near as good as p&o or Princess cruises though. The buffet food was a bit boring, same thing everyday and not great quality, my missus compared it to all you can eat package in a hotel in Spain. The entertainment in the theatre was excellent, but only 30 minutes long unfortunately. Always some music around the ship in the night that was a bit hit and miss quality wise. Be aware also that if you are the type of person who likes entertainment through the day (bingo, quizzes etc) not much going on around the ship even on the day at sea. If im honest i would not go back to MSC in a rush, I had a lovely time. It's just that there is a little bit of quality missing when it comes to the food and entertainment.
