As Expected! by GGCruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall a good cruise. Cabin was great, ship was clean and elegant. Buffet was excellent. Entertainment was also very good, especially the dance shows. Kids Club was great. Gym was nice. Room for improvement was in the dinning room, food was not as good as the buffet, no real beverage choices, work staff was reserved up until when they were to be reviewed by guests, lengthy disembarkation. Itinerary was fine except that the tendering in St. Thomas left no time to get to St. Johns. Happy we weren't on Carnival that week.

Had a good time BUT! by beentheretoo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was a very beautiful and clean ship but there was just a few little things that bothered us: There were no urinals in any Mens room! (weird) The layout in the spa/steamroom/sauna area was odd and awkward. (the mixing and crisscrossed paths of male/female, changerooms and showers was embarrassing for me) The showers were too small and not enough of them. The employees name tags were hard to read. (small print) Restrooms were poorly marked and hard to find. Stairwells were confusing. Beautiful and clean but they all looked the same. It would be easier if they distinguished front of the ship from the back with different colours or artwork also for deck level as well. The main dining room was way too crowded. the banquette seating was hard to get in and out of and made it hard for the waiters to serve food and collect dishes etc. Also one waiter per table was'nt enough. The poor boy tried but without an assistant to help keep up with bread and water and clearing of dishes, the delivery of the different coarses was sporatic and unpredictable. The overcrowding was even more dificult for him!!

Never again, not even if it was free! by plainjane

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was beautiful, new, well-decorated and clean. But the food in the main dining-room was terrible - picture bottled salad dressings, powdered mashed potatoes, boring, unimaginative menu, food served lukewarm. The buffet was a little better as there was always fresh fruit and salad fixings; although, the salad dressings were a dissappointment. Even my husband who likes everything was unimpressed. But even worse than that were the servers. None of them spoke or understood English, so they were basically order-takers, and unfriendly ones at that. They were all from Bali, Indonesia so the food and customs were probably all very foreign to them. But the Italian crew weren't much better, the help on the reception and accounting desk and in the stores - all very unfriendly like everybody was unhappy. Everytime we asked a question, the answer was always, 'impossible' , or 'no'. No apologies, or explanations. One girl at the reception desk merely pointed to a sign that said the ship was full, when we asked to be ungraded. We live in Florida 6 months of the year where everybody is friendly, so it was quite a shock to be surrounded by glum, unhappy people for a whole week.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The room was the smallest I have had on five lines. The food was only fair. The help was outstanding,Thank God.The interainment was very good but shows were very short, most were 30 minutes.I don't think I will try MSC again unless it was a outstanding price. Not unhappy but not what I expected.

Food has deteriorated since last year by Jedfec1015

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Last year at the same time this cruise was wonderful. We were on it with the family aging from 73- 18. So this year we went with 4 couples from our neighborhood. The rooms were good but the dining room food and service left much to be desired.

Food quality below average. Help not helpful or friendly. Matre Dee not friendly. Shows not different from nite to nite. I will not go on a MSC ship again. I'm sorry that your company rated this cruise line as highest.

Great way to see the Baltic cities. by AlanW1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The ship itself was wonderful. It was in great condition and the rooms were very comfortable. The food quality was not great and we had to buy our coffee and water for dinner, which was weird. The wi-fi they promised was horrible and we had to pay for it anyway. The entertainment was very nice, but some of the shows got repetitive.

Great cruise by DebS1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise so we can't compare to other experiences, but this cruise exceeded our expectations in most areas. The service of the staff was impeccable, the ship was gorgeous, the food outstanding, and most of the entertainment was very good. There were many, many European passengers on this cruise and we mostly liked that but it was sometimes disappointing to not be able to make conversation with people in the lounges or at meals. On the other hand, when we could make conversation with people from foreign countries who also spoke English, it was very rewarding; a great multicultural experience.

Great Christmas cruise! by DawnM4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Although having cruised several times before, I had never heard of MSC and was a bit skeptical. No more - it was awesome! Everything was spotlessly clean, staff was very friendly, and there was a variety of activities. Food was tasty - not the best/fanciest we've ever had on a cruise, but certainly tasty and lots of choices. It was fun to be "at sea" on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Very modern ship. Lots of fresh fruits and salad. Dinner was delicious every night. Shows were very entertaining and not too long. Really enjoyed the music at the zebra bar.

An Exceptional and a true vacation Cruis by GaneshV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is huge, and I stayed in a balcony suite, and it's big with mens and womans closets with several racks. It also comes with a tub. The option of $25 for 30 items laundry with iron is great and unique. The room service is exceptional, and same is true with dinner and breakfast areas. Overall fantastic and commited crew for customers. 99.99% crew are from non-english speaking countries, but they speak good english. Entertainment acivities are good for adults, and this ship comes with a nice theater. Kid activities could have been better, I felt like their activity rooms are smaller for the size of the ship. It's a 7 night cruise with stops in key west, Cozumel (Mexico), Rotan Island (Honduras), and Montigo Bay ( Jamaica). My only complaint is with the stay in Jamaica. The ship scheduled to leave around 2:30PM leaving our day short. Other than these small issues I give 5/5 rating for this cruise.

OK if you get the KIDS SAIL FREE deal. by AliciaP3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a family cruise with many generations and families. If it were not for the Kids Sail Free deal would probably not have gone. The port for Jamaica is a LONG drive to excursions. No pictures were taken upon disembarking at each port of call. Food was good quality, dining service was slow (typical European), coffee was good! Limited communication with crew due to poor English speaking.
