Generally a very pleasant first ever cruise. Due to the cleanliness and ambience of the ship and excellent service from all staff I would cruise again with MSC.Embarkation

Main dining room food was very good.

Pools - weather was cool with some rain. Generally pool area was well maintained, clean and popular.
Restricted area (Aurea guests) was excellent. Nice & private and a good getaway.
Sottovento Pub - very smokey
Entertainment
Need to lift entertainment standard.
Theatre was comfortable and easy to access.

Service and Staff
All staff were excellent in all areas of the ship.
This was the best part of our whole experience.
Main dining room staff were very attentive and communicated extremely well.
Ship Quality
Well suited for first time cruisers. Ship was very clean and felt "fresh".
Passengers sometimes left cigarette butts on outside promenades. Appeared to be cleaned up quickly.
Muster drill was well organized at individual muster stations.
Cabin / Stateroom
Cabin was very clean. Everything worked. Size was acceptable and is a little larger than some other cruise lines. Suited us fine.
Ship tip
Don't expect lots of activities on board. A great ship if there are no sea days in the itinerary

Ports of call
Has some beautiful waterfront areas but away from the waterfront there are some very "seedy" areas that you feel unsafe.
Mahon (Mao), Menorca, Balearic Islands
Extremely cold & wet. We had sleet & ice on our excursion to Mt Etna. Taormina was a beautiful town especially when the rain left and we lunched in the piazza.
Disembarkation
Cleary explained the evening beforehand at a special function. Time was allocated and everything ran smoothly
