Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Ate almost exclusively in main dining room. Food certainly was sufficient. I don't eat meat or shellfish. Had salmon twice. It was dried out and tasteless.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There were certainly enough activities to keep busy and I participated in quite a few: trivia, name that tune, Karaoke, etc. I personally would have enjoyed some lectures such as history of Islands, conservation, wild life, etc.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
OUTSTANDING!!!! I was dazzled with the costumes and ability of performers. George Casey is a hoot. Saw all the shows including the Rock musical in the Carousel Theatre.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
I was amazed at the variety of entertainment for children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Agus was our room steward. He was warm, friendly and accommodating. We brought several extra pillows. Every night when he made up the room, he did a different placement that made us chuckle. It was a pleasure to return midday and each evening. Every time we saw him, he asked what he could do. Waiter Francis Aguilar Origins did our last morning breakfast. His service was perfect; he check to make sure everything was right. He was amusing, warm and at the same time professional. I participated in the Passover seders and Friday night services. (Missed his name but I think it was something like "dolphin") I was overly impressed with staffs going above board to accommodate our group. Bravo!!!!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Loved the art about the ship and the various panoramic computer generated ceiling shows. Common areas sufficiently clean. Staff couldn't keep up with the cleanliness of bathrooms on the 15th floor - other areas quite good.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable and clean. I was disappointed with the size of the balcony.

Ship tip

It's a city of a ship; take the daily activity sheet MSC provides with you. You can lounge the day away or be as busy as you'd like to be.

Ports of call

Brooklyn, New York

5 out of 5
I'm from Virginia Beach (I wish you'd sail out of Norfolk). I was born in Brooklyn and have family there.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

I did the Resort for a day - totally enjoyed it. (Iberostar?)

San Juan, Puerto Rico

I went snorkeling. Didn't do excursion. My 3rd time to PR.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
Wasn't impressed with the beach. Admission, chair rental & transportation expensive. MSC could figure the costs and offer an excursion for guests. I'd pay more for convenience.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Loved Magens Bay Beach. Didn't do excursion.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We were number 33. We were in theater and told everyone can disembark. Pedestrian traffic was so crowded we could hardly get to our suitcases and the lines were long. Believe you should stick to letting people leave in smaller groups.
