Cruise was great! Had an awesome time & got to explore the ship areas I missed on my first MSC cruise.
Embarkation

This was my 2nd time on MSC out of Brooklyn, and I can say it was night & day from my last cruise. We got to port under a torrential storm & traffic was awful. Once inside the terminal, there were ushers navigating the lines & it literally took me 10 min line to clear TSA customs, 5 mins to get to check in & literally like 5-7 mins to check in & get my boarding card. Done!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The Panorama main dining room was great, a little ride on the first day, but great thereafter. Food & waiter service was amazing!! Big shout out to Joseph Balisi & Gian Carlo Tirona/Philippines.
Onboard Activities

I relaxed & rested at the pools, and all was great. A bit crowded at times, but we sailed on a sold-out cruise, so it’s to be expected.
Entertainment

Try heater shows were great. Everything sold out quickly. The best was by far the comedy show, hilarious!!

Service and Staff

My room steward was amazing! Kept the room immaculate & always smelling fresh & clean. Big shout out to Ms Tamara!
Ship Quality

Beautiful ship. All areas were clean & PPE standards kept well maintained. Unfortunately, there’s no enforcement on hand washing & people just grab food w/out observing proper hygiene. There’s sinks & bathrooms right out side & at the entrance of the main buffet dining hall. Washy washy people!!
Cabin / Stateroom

First time ever on an overview & loved it! No obstructed view at all. The lifeboat did not block my view as I thought it would. I either do a balcony or inside rm when traveling solo, this was a nice change, for a great price.
Ship tip
Consider hurricane season when booking a Caribbean cruise in September. We were extremely lucky to miss 1 hurricane getting there & another when leaving, but on the last day at sea there was already a major storm. Book your entertainment early & arrive on time bc everything sells out quickly. You must try the ice cream & the fresh pizza!! Delish!!
Disembarkation was much better this time around as well. Unfortunately, we docked under yet another torrential storm & bc there was a NYC marathon happening, taxis were not allowed into the terminal area. Horribly planned on the part of NYC DOT, they kind of forgot to accommodate 5K people getting off the ship, while another 5K needed to board. Traffic disaster which could have been averted, of this gridlock in the pouring rain…!
@Skooby…ok so that’s a great example of a total breakdown in traffic planning. Sorry it took you hrs to get to the airport! The whole thing was insane! The few taxis that were able to enter the terminal were charging $150 + to get cruisers to JFK &/or LaGuardia. I’m usually home by 9:00/9:30. Not this time…hope your cruise was great otherwise. Thanks for sharing & Happy Cruising

Thanks for your feedback. I was on your cruise and that marathon in Brooklyn basically shut down everything. It took me hours to get to the JFK airport vis bus, metro and train. Didn't arrive until the afternoon and I disembarked at exactly 7am.😀. It was definitely an adventure.
