MSC Meraviglia is a wonderful ship and we enjoyed the cruise because its features and the staff onboard. We do hope they radically improve the quality of the food to make it a truly special experience.

Overall, food was less than savory and it should be rates at 2. Yet, the bars and the service in them was outstanding and they should rate a 5

We did enjoy the ship since it does have lots of open spaces. Pools were salt water which is always a plus...and the bars were excellent.
Entertainment

All musicians onboard were of world class quality and the shows were were presented. The one disappointment was the dance choreography which tended to be less than creative for the most part.

The service was out of this world. Our cabin steward took care of our room like it was her own. Restaurant staff was professional and accommodating and bar staff went beyond expectations in quality of service and preparation of drinks. Pina Coladas, Bloody Marys and Irish Coffee were among the best we have ever tried.
Ship Quality

The ship is well designed with lots of open spaces both inside and outside. The decor in impressive. Ship was spotless in the morning but not so much as the day went by. Seems there is no practice of aggressive cleaning.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had an inside cabin which was more than adequate for our needs. The cabin was not huge but very comfortable as were the beds and pillows. Our cabin steward kept it spotless

Lower your expectations about the quality of the food. Buy the open bar package.
Getting to the terminal is a mess regardless of your mode of transportation. Once inside the terminal expect long lines that move at a fairly good pace.
We have been there before. Lots of stores near the dock. Some of them are top shelf but trinkets are plentiful if that's what you favor. There is a beach, Junkanoo Beach, located within walking distance of the dock. It is clean and you can rent chairs, umbrellas and even have a beer or two.
Ot was very fast since we opted to carry our own luggage off the ship. The only glitch is that we were taken for a ride, literally, by the taxi mafia which will extort you for $70 for a ride to Manhattan.
Glad you enjoyed the cruise except for the food. Yes taxis can be a rip off. Never get in a taxi without asking the cost of the trip. That’s why Uber is so appealing. At least get a quote from Uber first so you know what the cost could be.
