We had a great time on our first cruise and will definitely cruise again but I will likely try a different cruise line. MSC is good but they are a European company and the food options reflected that. Our family tends to eat more traditional american fare so the food choices for us were limited we ate in the buffet for every meal
Embarkation
4 out of 5
It was confusing an hectic arriving at the port no one really directing us on what we needed to do with baggage etc
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was not good we only ate there twice the whole trip. The buffet food was very good but they didnt change it out really at all so it was the same food choices every day. Desserts were too "fancy" weird textures etc Not alot of choices for kids food, my daughter basically ate hot dogs for a week
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Pools were great, the water park was fun, we did the bowling and other fun pass activities there was always something to do
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We saw 4 shows and 3 of them were fantastic, the Houdini show was very boring and everyone in the audience was confused when it ended like that was it? I was disappointed that I paid extra for it it was hyped up to be this amazing show and it really wasnt. The rock circus show was amazing! Same with the Journey show and the Top hits in the broadway theater.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
My 11 year old daughter only went to kids club twice the whole week, she did like it but we just wanted to spend more time together so she didnt really have a big desire to go longer than that
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was great, staff was very nice, everything was very clean. There are some staff who dont understand English well so that we challenging at some times
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was very very clean
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our room was very comfortable and clean. The only negative I can say is nowhere to put luggage and clothes but thats the same on any cruise ship
Ship tip
Dont go see the Houdini show its not worth the money, skip the main dining room the food is not good and portions are really small also not good options for young kids at the dining room
We did an excursion to disney springs, it was fun but it poured rain and we got soaked! Also the buses drop you off pretty far from the entry to disney springs it was a long walk we were not anticipating with sandals on and shopping bags etc
we did the dolphin excursion at blue lagoon and it was amazing! This was the highlight of or trip. The only downside is we didnt have enough time after the excursion to explore Nassau at all which was a bummer we would have liked more time
The island is beautiful and very very clean. The lines for the buffet were long and took awhile to get lunch but other than that we had a great day. HIghly recommend renting a beach umbrella it was VERY HOT when we were there and it said 80 degrees but felt more like 100. Sun is very hot there I applied sunscreen to my daughter every hour and she still got sunburnt
Glad you had a great first time experience! As this is our first time with MSC and this ship, we're going to be very critical of every aspect of the cruise!
