Great first cruise with MSC. The private island, affordable costs, and family focus will bring us back to MSC many times.
Embarkation

A negative COVID Test was required at the terminal. It was smooth, well organized, had plenty of seating, and the staff had cold bottled water for passengers as they awaited their results.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

The buffet, is what I expect for a buffet. The main dining room had delicious international cuisine. Our only speciality restaurant was Hola Tacos, which was good and what I would expect for a Mexican restaurant that isn't either in an American strip mall or in Mexico itself. I can tell MSC is an Italian company, the bread, pastries, dessert, and coffee are the finest I've had on land or sea

Entertainment

We didn't catch all of the large evening shows, but those that we did see along with the musical acts in the lounges and bars were wonderful.
Children's Programs

My son regularly gave up ice cream at dinner to have me bring him up to the Lego club when they opened for the evening. He loved it there and the staff are amazing.
Service and Staff

We were certainly spoiled at the ship normally holds ~4600 passengers and we only had 600-800 onboard. On the first day, my wife and I were tired from traveling and we were enjoying sitting still at the buffet lunch, my son (5 y/o was antsy for a dessert), the service took him by the hand, brought him to the dessert buffet and loaded him up with treats. Everyone was friendly and personable.
Ship Quality

The ship is very modern with clean lines and beautiful design.
Cabin / Stateroom

This cabin is in an inside corner of a indent of the ship which creates a huge balcony, easily double the size of a standard balcony
Ship tip
Manage your expectations as this is an Italian cruise line. If you want burgers, breakfast burritos, and belly flop contests, go with Carnival. If you want a quiet, refined experience, with international passengers and foods, MSC is the line to go with.
Beautiful island. Drink and wifi passages extend to the island as well as free buffet and some upcharge options if you wish. The evening parade and lighthouse show are a great cap to a perfect day at Ocean Cay ;).
