Staff was awesome! The ship was absolutely beautiful. The food is not up to par with the other cruise lines. There were not enough places in the shade to lounge. This ship holds 4500 passengers and there were only less than 700 passengers on board. Plenty of room to move around and no waiting for anything. It was a good cruise for the price.
Embarkation

Even with the Covid testing at the port, we were on the ship within 45 minutes from the time we arrived at the terminal. We boarded ahead of our schedule time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was at a quality below any other cruise I had ever been on. The last night was Italian night and we figured, this being an Italian cruise line, the food would be great; it was not. We actually left halfway through dinner to try our luck at the buffet. A little better but not much.
Our waiter, Dedy was excellent.

Every member of the crew was extremely friendly and always wanting to help.
Ship Quality

The ship was spotless and was constantly being cleaned. The digital ceiling in the promenade was amazing. The only major complaint I have about the design of the ship is that the only lounge chairs that were in the shade was at the main pool and at the indoor pool.
We wanted a ‘quieter ‘ place to lounge in the shade but there was not one. The Hoizon pool at the stern of the ship was absolutely beautiful, but no shade.
The lounge chairs were not very comfortable.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had a balcony cabin which was absolutely beautiful. Churchhill Took good care of us and even brought us bathrobes and slippers on the first day. On my wife’s birthday, we came into the cabin to find that Churchhill had decorated the entire cabin for her birthday. There were banners, signs, half a dozen towel animals and a towel birthday cake. It was a great surprise.
Ship tip
Don’t expect spectacular food like you would receive on some of the other cruise lines.
We spent two days at this island and it was absolutely wonderful. The laser lighthouse show with spectacular, my wife even referred to it as ‘Epcot worthy’. Because of Covid, we did not feel comfortable getting off at any other ports but we had a great time on Ocean Cay. We relaxed on the beautiful beaches all day for two days.
I was on same cruise. My thoughts on food was food quality was average but was not fan of menu in MDR. Less selection in buffet than on Carnival. Ship was really nice and service was good. MSC took more health precautions than cruise on Carnival in December. Additional covid test before embarkation, daily temperature check and no self service at buffet. Ship felt almost empty at times.
Thanks for the review. I was on Meraviglia in January and loved it. I thought the food in the dining room and buffet was good to excellent and was equal to or better than what I had on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Holland America.
