Ship is really beautiful, and you can tell that it’s a pretty new ship. The itinerary was great.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
MSC starts their embarkation process later than other cruise lines (I’ve sailed on MSC Divina once, RCL once and Carnival a bunch when I was younger).
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Panorama Restaurant: the first night our service was very slow, and the second night also until we complained to the manager. After this, the food came out pretty fast. Some dishes were great and others were average
Buffet: the food tasted good, but there wasn’t as wide of a selection as on other cruise lines. The pizza was the best at sea and was available all the time!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The water slides were a highlight, but the line to get your inner tube was pretty slow on days at sea... go on port days! The ropes course was really fun. My brother and I had to wait for a treadmill a couple days.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Some of the Broadway Theatre shows were really good and others weren’t our taste. The Cirque du Soleil Show, Viaggio, was very entertaining. The bands and musicians that you find scattered around the ship on other cruise lines were lacking. The white party was a blast!
F1 Simulator
5 out of 5
My brother did the F1 simulator and seemed to really enjoy it
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Emmanuel, our room steward, and the other room stewards on deck 11 were very friendly. Emmanuel did a great job. We didn’t bond with our waiter like we’ve always done on prior cruises.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ships layout was user friendly. There are a lot of touch screens on the walls that make navigating the ship easy. Workers did a really good job keeping everything cleaned.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
My family of 4 got 2 interior rooms that weren’t connecting (don’t have any on the ship). This way it’s easier to get ready at night, not 1 but 2 bathrooms. The room was large. Not a lot of storage space, but 2 people can make do.
Ship tip
Enjoy your time on board! Pack a swimsuit in your carry on for the first day. Also, check the app frequently. They switched our Roatan and Costa Maya port days without communicating it to their guests.
We loved Costa Maya and haven’t been here before. We went to Maya Chan Beach and would TOTALLY recommend. It’s an all-inclusive beach that’s a fantastic deal.
Didn’t book an excursion, just enjoyed our last day at the beach. Not many free activities to do other than the beach. We waited about 30 minutes to get to the front of the line at Seakers Food Court. The food was just ok.
We did cave tubing with Butts Up and it wasn’t a favorite. We didn’t know that it’s an hour drive on a bus to and from the cave. Once we arrived, there was a 20 ish minute walk to get to the cave.
