Review summary

A big and new ship doesn't mean good service unfortunately. It's better to invest in good service for the customer instead of building huge ships with terrible service, unfriendly personnel and monotone food.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Always slow and chaotic embarkation with MSC, they ask you to check in via the internet before your cruise starts but it has to be done all over again at the check in desk.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was good but always the same at he buffet and at the restaurant it's of a poor quality.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Always activities for adults, nothing for children, only very limited at the kids or teens club. By example: table soccer tournament: only for adults.

Entertainment

3 out of 5

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Very limited opening hours of the kid's club.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
90% of the waiters is very unfriendly, not motivated at all and very very slow. 15 minutes for 2 drinks at an almost empty bar is way too long. Room stewards did a good job! Always a clean room.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Although the ship is new a lot of things are already broken.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Okay, enough space for an inside cabin.

Ship tip

Don't use the expensive bus which MSC presents to you but take a taxi, it's much cheaper and faster. Always check your bill, they charge you things you even didn't order.

Ports of call

Marseille (Provence), France

2 out of 5
Dirty, and indeed the most dangerous city of France.

Genoa, Italy

3 out of 5
Dirty but okay for half a day.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

2 out of 5
Civitavecchia is very dirty and there's nothing worth to visit only Rome but that's an hour driving from Civitavecchia.

Palermo, Sicily

1 out of 5
Terrible, you can better stay on the ship.

La valletta

4 out of 5
Beautiful and clean.

Barcelona, Spain

4 out of 5
Beautiful.

Wow....anything you did like? Can't believe your only impression of those ports was that they are dirty. They are old cities and part of history...what did you expect!!!? You overlooked everything to concentrate on dirt?!!! Wow!!!!
