Review summary

Overall good experience. The ports are far from the city and with very few options to get to places. The food is good. The workers are fantastical. I would recommend it if prices are affordable.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Finding the embarkation port was kind of difficult. It needed better signage and direction.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
They have a good variety of options. The Buffett had great options, pizza being the primary option. No ice cream though, except for one day.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Great activities for the whole family

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The main entertainment had great singers and dancers. The shows varied, a couple were great, a couple were ok and the rest were not good.

Children's Programs

Did not travel with small children. However, the teen program was great!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff is the greatest asset this cruise had.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It was super clean all the time. The ship looks a little outdated.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great space and great views. It is very private and was left very clean by the staff.

Ship tip

MSC in general is a good experience. Look for the small details of the

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

3 out of 5
It was the embarkation and disembarkation port. Nothing to do there other than taking the train to Rome. Be aware of taxis and transportation to the main embarkation entrance. You could potentially walk from the train station, but the lack of signs makes it difficult to know where to go.

GENOA (PORTOFINO), ITALY

3 out of 5
It was a good port. Many activities to do locally, but you can also go to close by locations.

Marseille (Provence), France

5 out of 5
One of my favorite ports. Lots of things to do in the city center. It is a 20-25 minute drive to the city center. Beware of overprice transportation fee from MSC.

Tarragona, Spain

1 out of 5
Very few things to do. The port is in the middle of nowhere so you need the transportation from MSC or call a local taxi.

Valencia, Spain

5 out of 5
Valencia was a great experience as well. Lots of things to do and see.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

3 out of 5
We want to Pisa here. Good experience. Great food and easy to get to.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and trouble free
