Review summary

We recently completed a 10 day cruise with the MSC Divina. We left from Port of Miami and cruised to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Cartagena, Colombia, Colon, Panama, Puerto Limon, Costa Rica and our final destination was MSC private island Ocean Cay in the Bahamas. We had wonderful weather the entire cruise except for some rain in Cartagena. Overall our experience on the MSC Divina was outstanding. From the food, the live entertainment, the exceptional crew. It was an experience we will never forget. After sailing on the beautiful Divina it will make it difficult to go back to other cruise lines. The Divina is such an elegant ship. The ambiance and flare for what you pay for is unmatched. It truly leaves you wanting to go back for more. This will not be our last cruise on the Divina. That is for sure.

We experienced a delay with printing out our cabin keys but it was minor

Food and Dining

The best drinks were in the Black and White Lounge in my opinion. Most of the mixed drinks were a bit watered down I thought but that could just be me. If you find this is your experience, just request a double shot and you'll be good to go!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was a little on the smaller side than what we expected however the beds were comfortable. Great water pressure in the bathroom and ample closet space. The only thing that was an inconvenience was there are no iron or iron boards in the cabin. There is a $10 fee to rent an iron. While the bathroom had shampoo and shower gel dispensers. That's all they had. Overall it was ok and we got used to our cabin after the first night.

Ports of call

Colon, Panama

3 out of 5
Colon was probably our least favorite port. And again I attribute that to the time constraints. Perhaps if we had more time it would have given us more opportunity to make a better assessment. However the tour to the canal and Panama City was nice. Just very rushed and that's because we didn't have much time.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

5 out of 5
Ocho Rios was one of our absolute favorite ports! Dunns River Falls was so much fun! The people were first class. They were amazing with helping us at the falls and making us feel welcome❤

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
We spent the first night in Miami. We were able to eat at an authentic Cuban restaurant. The food was great. We also walked around some of the local neighborhoods and had a drink at this place called Bar Nancy. We visited the Everglades our last night and took an airboat tour that was really cool.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Ocean Cay was probably the most stunning of all the ports with regards to the beautiful aqua clear water. Although Jamaica was just as nice. The scenery and sunset was breathtaking. However due to unforseen emergencies on our cruise we arrived at Ocean Cay behind schedule and didn't get to spend a lot of time here.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

5 out of 5
Costa Rica was one of our favorite ports! The boat and Aerial tram tour through the Veragua Rainforest was truly amazing! This was a place I would to go back and stay a few days. The energy and essence of the people really blew me away.

Cartagena, Colombia

4 out of 5
I enjoyed the Chiva Party Bus tour in Cartagena. We were also able to eat at a local restaurant which was nice. Just wish we had more time in this port is my only complaint.

We almost just booked that same cruise. Now I’m jealous! We are going on our 2nd MSC IS WEEKEND. We were on the Meraviglia. It’s the sister and almost identical it sounds like. Our trip was magical. Simply magical. Just hubs and myself. The crew was amazing and we had our favs. Can’t wait to see them again. Food was unbelievable. I never eat 3 times a day but it did that week !! It hasn’t even been a month yet and we are going back. Great deals now. W we do plan to take that 11 day this Spring. So glad u had a great time. Thanks for the great review !!! Posted some pics. We sailed out of Port Canaveral. Love MSC ❤️🚢⚓️🛳️

I keep hearing of watered down drinks. I can see how a whiskey sour could be a light pour, but heavy alcohol drinks like Long Island Ice Tea, Martini, Manhattan, Sazerac, etc are tough to do a light pour. A shot is anywhere from one to two ounces. I expect short pours on cheap liquor service. But I don't order many Bahama Mamas or Whiskey and Soda because you will surely get short pours on these. You could, of course, just ask for a full shot (1.5 Oz) instead of a pony (1 Oz), or order it "with a generous pour" or "a liberal shot".

Thank you for taking the time to share your cruise with us. Glad you had a good time. Our last cruise was this same itinerary on the Divina. We got back to port just as they shut everything down for COVID.
