Great little getaway. Looking forward to doing this cruise again. This might just be my favorite weekend getaway. I LOVE CRUISING and with this being not real expensive, what a better way to enjoy the weekend.
Embarkation

The embarkation process was great. From the time we entered into the terminal (10:04am) until the time we stepped onto the ship (10:25am) took only about 21 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food is a matter of taste. I may love something, and you might think it's the nastiest thing you ever put in your mouth. So with that said. I only ate in the buffet area once. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. However there was a chicken dish there on the first day that I thought was very good. The funny thing is that hardly anyone was eating it. We ate most of our meals in the MDR and their French Onion Soup was amazing. The best I have had on a cruise ship. And Grandma's Chocolate Cake had me asking for more. Grandma put her FOOT in that cake.
Onboard Activities

You can't rate something you didn't take part in. But I will say that the casino was friendly to us. So for that I'll give it 5 stars
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Ok entertainment which in MY opinion is also a matter of taste. The entertainment in the Pantheon Theater was good. The singers and dancers were good, but it's very similar to what you will see on any cruise ship. Now they did have what I guess could be called acrobatic performers that were very good. They also had some contortionist That were also very good. The only thing (and it's just my opinion) was the way they were placed into the shows. Those acts could have been shows by themselves, and not part of the singing and dancing. Did not check out the other entertainment.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The only issue I had with service in the MDR is that they could not get our seating correct. We had a late seating, so when we arrived we asked for a table JUST for 2. We were told they didn't have any available, not even 1. When we mentioned that we had not eaten yet and we would just go to the buffet the head waiter told another waiter to seat us at a table (it was a table for 2. But they had nothing available). The head waiter gave us his card for an early dinner seating for the next night , which we didn't mind, and it would be a seating for 2. When we arrived the next night, I handed the card to the waiter at the door and they took us to our table only to find that there were people already sitting there. They sat us at a different table for 2 and the Head Waiter came by and apologized and told us that for our next night's dinner we could just come and sit at the same table we are now seated at. Ok so the next night we enter the MDR and once again the table we were supposed to be seated at, someone is sitting there. Good thing it was only a 3 night cruise. Other than that, as I stated before the food was good. And the performance that the wait staff does usually on the last night, was the best that I have seen on a cruise ship.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship design was not bad. One thing I really loved was this almost hidden elevator close to our room. It was a single elevator that almost everyone walked by and people really didn't realize it was there until like the last evening of the cruise. Our room stewart was great. And because of all the glass on the ship, they did a really good job in keeping it clean. With all the mirrors on the ship it can throw you off a little, but other than that no more complaints.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We had an interior cabin, which was nice. Because this was just a 3 day cruise, it was fine. Now the shower on the other hand, is not built for big people. I'm a big guy, well I think I'm a big guy. Bigger than some smaller than others. 5'11" 280 pounds. And it was not easy taking a shower. But I managed.
Ship tip
If you have sailed MSC before and not liked it, give them another chance. Remember that all the reviews you see is based on someone else's opinion and you can have a totally different experience. Food is a matter of taste and so is entertainment. There will ALWAYS be good and bad on a cruise, but try and let the GOOD out weigh the bad. Enjoy being able to CRUISE, because not everyone can afford this luxury. 🙂
Very nice place. I have seen reviews saying that there is not a lot of shade, and yes that is somewhat true. If there is only 1 ship there you should be able to find some place with some shade. We ended up sitting in a transportation pavilion for a few minutes. There was shade and a VERY NICE breeze there. As with most places in the caribbean the water was amazing.
For us, another seamless process. I did read a review of this same ship where someone was delayed from disembarkation because of having to receive a credit on their account and as we were leaving there was someone that had to go back to customer service to receive a credit, so they were delayed from getting off the ship. So yes I can see that being a problem especially when you're ready to leave. But because we carried our own luggage we were out of our cabin, off the ship and through customs in about 15 minutes.
I sailed on the Seaside back in 2018 and swore I'd never sail MSC again...well, I just booked the Divina for the end of the month because I wanted the yacht club experience to try a different version of MSC. Looking forward and hopeful that this one will be better than the first
Thanks for your review!
Unfortunately, Colorado isn’t near any embarkation port, so a weekend getaway is unlikely for us. However, your review makes it sound very appealing. Appreciate your detailed review. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
