Review summary

Every experience we had on this was truly a pleasure and opened our eyes to new sights, sounds and foods. Definitely a trip to remember always. Thanks to everyone who made it possible on MSC Divina.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Since there was only 900 people boarding embarkation was quick and easy. Very well organized we arrived at 10am and were on the boat by 11am.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was really good we tried the main dining, the specialty restaurants and buffet. A good variety and lots of vegetarian options too.

Black Crab Restaurant

4 out of 5

The service was excellent very helpful and they remembered our allergies and drink orders every time we came down for dinner. The food was good some nights were better than others. The best thing I ate while dining in the black crab was the duck al orangé (don't know if that's spelled right 😐) and the Snickers cake.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There was a variety of things to do on ship. My husband and I enjoyed sunny by the pool, the trivia games and the arts and crafts.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
All of the on board entertainment was great. The stag shows were a bit hit or miss at times but overall enjoyable. The atrium performers were amazing and the DJs were on point.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our cabin steward was outstanding 👏. When he found out my husband had twisted his ankle (without us asking) brought us extra pillows for him to prop up his ankle and 2 buckets of ice with extra bags every night. We truly appreciate it. The wait staff in the main dining and the buffet were super nice and helpful as well. One of our favorite parts of the trip was our last night on the boat we decided to have dinner at the buffet. There was just a small group people there having dinner when a couple of crew members came out with guitars and started a sing a long of oldies and Christmas songs. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed until closing. It was the one of the best way to spend our last night on the ship. My one critique would be that the reception area needs to work on their customer service skills. We had a question about something on our bill and one receptionist was quite short with us and unwilling to hear our question or give us an answer on how to resolve it. It could have been she was having a bad day but it still left us a bit disappointed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The design of the ship was very clever to get around the ship easily and without confusion. Every area that enter was well maintained and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very comfortable and lots of places to unpack luggage for two people.

Ship tip

Divina and it's crew are very nice and a great experience. But just realize that it's an older ship with an older clientele so the entertainment is catered as such. Definitely not a party boat.

Ports of call

Cartagena, Colombia

5 out of 5
The port was lovely especially upon returning because you get to walk through an animal sanctuary filled with birds, monkeys and more. Our excursion was a tour of old cartagena, a folkloric dance show and shopping afterwards. The tour overall was great very informative and entertaining. The only thing that was a bit annoying was do to all the traffic (that can't be avoided) we were unable to go explore the city our own and do a shopping. Be warned that because of the poverty in colombia there are lots of vendors on street that can be pushy, there items are a lot cheaper than buying them at the port and you'll be helping someone out at the same time. But if decide not to buy from them just simply say no gracias they will leave you alone.

Colon, Panama

5 out of 5
The port was basically non existence. Our excursion was a tour down the Panama canal. It was an eight hour tour very nice and informative. Lunch was included. Because of the local traffic and the operations of the actual canal we were about an hour late for disembarkation but because we were with the ships excursion crew the boat waited for us one of the benefits of booking with the cruise line.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

5 out of 5
The port was lovely. Our excursion was going to Mystic Mountain and Dunn's River Falls. One of the most fun experiences we had. Everyone was friendly and not at all pushy. Of course tips are expected for most experiences but honestly it's worth it.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
The port was nice. Our excursion was a 4x4 jeep tour. It was great seeing the sights from the comfort of our own jeep. We drove from one end of the island to the other, a light lunch was included.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Beautiful island. We did a tour of the light house that was fun. The beaches were too cold for us to swim in but they were crystal clear and beautiful just the same. Lots of available free lounge chairs and umbrella to rent for 5 bucks.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

5 out of 5
Not much to say about the port here there's basically nothing. Our excursion was a ziplining canopy tour through the Vergagua Rainforest. The drive over towards the rainforest picturesque. This was hands down our favorite excursion of all of them. Especially since it rained the entire time made it even more challenging and fun at the same time.

Miami, Florida

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Disembarkation was easy while on the boat once we were off it was a different story. Very chaotic and un organized but I don't think that was MSCs fault it was more the Miami port lack of employees and signage.
