Review summary

Great cruise for money- buffets were crowded and inconvenient- room service never got the orders right but for the money- can’t beat it

Embarkation

3 out of 5
I’m on a mobility scooter- no accommodations were made to expedite us through the outside line. Once inside the terminal we were ushered to a special line- after waiting 20 minutes and numerous complaints some came and manned our scanner

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
No prime rib or lobster- NY strip steak was offered on the restaurant menu for no added charge- very thin Surf and turf was offered each night for an up charge between $19.99 and $24 There was seating for the disabled in the buffet but far away from free beverages. Many times we waited for a table to open up- there was bar service for a fee if you didn’t purchase the drink package. Food was repetitious- 1 toast station and eggs were cold before our turn at the toaster One really stand out item was no water without a fee of $5.95 per quart. I’m a silver member but no water as a perk.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Arts and crafts were fun, trivia, game programs were great. I pre-purchased the activity pack so my daughter could bowl in the sports bar- it broke on the 2nd day. It’s the ships policy not to refund any prepaid items. So $68 gone! Evening shows were fantastic The private island was beautiful but the only activity was swimming. Very very poor score for those with mobility issues. All tables and chairs are on the sand- I’m unable to walk in sand so I asked where the handicapped accessible table were- they have none- the crew in charge of the picnic moved a table to the edge of the black top. I sat on my scooter and ate. Many elderly had problems navigating to tables. Absolutely no thought went into the design with mobility challenges in mind

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Evening shows were great! There were many live music venues throughout the ship- fantastic performances

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward was great- waiters were attentive. Everyone had a smile

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very nice- well maintained. Accommodations were made to keep my scooter near our room in the common area

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Clean, neat- but no space for my scooter to turn around. We were in a balcony room. All other ships we’ve been on had room to accommodate my mobility device. The room steward made arrangements to have my scooter stored near my room in a large common area. That saved my cruise

Ship tip

Take lots of patience

Ports of call

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

1 out of 5
Horrible for those with mobility issues- all tables and chair are in the sand Many disabled and elderly were on board and had to return to the ship to eat- if you don’t swim or sunbathe- there’s nothing to do on the island

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Miami, Florida

Disembarkation
