Embarkation
1 out of 5
long lines, Homeland Security did not even open until line was out the door
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
nothing remarkable at all, keep trying, and all was bland. last night food in dining area was good
Buffets, had no asian fare, just pasta, etc. No real dessert ever, NO cookies or ice cream at buffets./ Unlike Seaside
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
No bingo, trivia, just geared to 30 and under crowd, Have a nice kids program that includes them in evening shows with a song, nice. It was a SHORT cruise, just to Ocean Cay, which opened 12/05, and very little was open. Our day was to be full and was cut short to 12:30. Only 2 bars open, No excursions I would NOT BOOK any until you get there, till kinks are ironed out.
Entertainment

Average, much better on MSC Seaside
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Our steward was nice, and tried to clean our bathroom that obviously someone was not a straight shooter and smelled of urine the whole time. Staff was not at all friendly, No one spoke English even passengers for the most part.but no one went out of their way, especially our servers,, who were actually rude to a gay couple that sat with us at our table and these men were sitting across from each other and were asked to sit side by side at our six person table that only 4 of us sat at the whole time. Awkward.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
Definitely old
Cabin / Stateroom

This is about our 8th cruise and the smallest room ever for what they called Fantastica, Upgrade with Window.
Ship tip
I would avoid this ship entirely, we met a cruise agent and she said she thinks the line is in trouble and it felt like it. I had to ask for more toliet paper and a box of kleenex three times before I got it.
I'll admit MSC has some faults, been on the Divinia & the Seaside! MDR was better on Divinia, the buffet was better on the Seaside! Beautiy of both ships are outstanding! Just like Carnival each ship has its own distinctive decor! Yes MSC does cater to the Europeans, but thats just their back ground! MSC hasn't been that long in the US market, but there are trying their Best to Compete for it! I haven't written them Off! I'm looking forward to resail again with them!
Maybe you should contact STLSpartan Who was on the same exact cruise and rated it 4 stars and seem to have a great time. The MSC ships get mixed reviews. They are not the same as NCL, Carnival or Royal Caribbean, as they have several options that include different levels of service. Most of the reviews I have seen of those that were disappointed are those who booked the cheapest price, but expected the top level service. Those that seem to enjoy the cruise the most did their research and understood exactly what they were getting based on which level they chose. When I see most everything rated 1 star, it tends to tell me much more about the negative attitude of the reviewer than about the ship. Nothing is ever all good or all bad.
