This is the third cruise that we have taken on the MSC Divina. It has gotten progressively BETTER! Better food, better service, better ports and overall BETTER experience!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
This was a swift and smooth process. Absolutely the easiest time getting on a ship that I can remember.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
There's plenty of variety whether in the main dining room or at the buffet. The only complaint I have is one that has been ongoing for years and it applies to all the cruise lines.....the temperature of the food....never really hot, just seems to be warmed up. I certainly can live with that. Simply put....no one will go hungry. Most the offeri
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The fitness center was surprisingly good. Plenty of bikes, treadmills, weights and other various equipment. Hey, if you like to dance (as both my wife and I do), there's no shortage of dance classes. Even if you don't like to dance, these classes allow for good "people watching"! There lots of other activities aboard that will keep you busy.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The stage productions were professional and glitzy. They were very entertaining and left you wanting more. The other performers throughout the other lounges were good as well.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
This was our third cruise on the Divina and we can unequivocally state that the service has definitely improved. The staff is much more attentive than when we took our first cruise on this ship about a year and a half ago. Not only did they up their up with their efficiency, but the collective attitude of the ship's personnel was friendlier.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
In general, the design of the ship was good. However, there were a few areas that I would like to see change. One would be the availability of food on the pool deck. If you got hungry at the pool, you had to walk all the way into the buffet to get some "grub". Yeah, I know that's no biggie, but come on, you're on VACATION.....you want to have ease and convenience. I like having "comfort foods" available on the pool deck
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Clean and comfy! Your typical balcony cabin on a big small......tight!
Ship tip
Simply stated: "The Wine Tasting"! Not only is it extremely inexpensive but the selection of wines, the commentary and the whole experience is wonderful
Hey, what's not to like about Miami. We live here so visiting Miami is easy for us. If you're from out of town or don't live close to Miami.....you have got to experience it. The food, the attractions, the ambiance, the beaches and "people watching" are great things to do here in southeast Florida!
Dunn's River Falls never gets old! It is a great, fun adventure that is loaded with "nervous" enjoyment. The island is full of wonderful people, good food and great tourist spots.
We weren't impressed with this port. Maybe it's just because we stayed within the port area. The city is old and unimpressive. Shopping, food and local folks...average
Only giving it 3 Stars because of the good shopping that we found in the local towns away from the tourist areas. I am guessing that we did not go to the better parts of this port. But from what we saw, we couldn't recommend it.
Probably did not visits the nicer spots of this port. From our experience, we could only give it 4 Stars and that was because of the Rain Forest. However, gotta admit it was overpriced and certainly not in the same league with "El Yunque" in Puerto Rico. In El Yunque you could swim beneath the waterfalls (3 of them) and the trek through it's Rain Forest was much more scenic than in Costa Rica's.
Wow! This port is a newly constructed port. They did a great job. We did the water park, which should not be missed.....lots of slides, zip lines (they ended in the water), relaxing pools and just lots of fun. After that we went back to the port and enjoyed the plentiful shopping. NIce waterfront restaurants practically in the ocean! Dolpins swimming in pools built around shopping. Wonderful local shows in the port plaza. We highly recommend this port.
Cozumel has always been one of our favorites. Take the ferry over to Playa Del Carmen. Do some shopping, eat at some of the nice eateries or jump in a taxi and go over to the Crystal Caves. Have a really fun time there!
