Review summary

Crise was okay, but would not book again if a large group is taking over ship like this one.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was easy getting on with the Black card status, but that is only the beginning.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Was told you could buy drink vouchers on board instead of drink packages which are over priced. Could not on this cruise! Asked for early dining, but received late. Was told no one other than the Vegan group had early, they had a contract for ALL dining rooms for the first seating. People making reservations should be told that! Vegans had their own Buffet that other people could not eat at, but over 50% of the Vegans were not Vegans and ate at the regular buffet that had been reduced in size. Speciality restaurants were good, but it is an additional expense.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment was curtailed due to Vegan meetings. But the 7:00 pm (only evening show) was good. Interesting in the bars they all seem to take break at 6 pm when the first dinner seating was.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Dinner staff Alberto and Wendy were great. Also Juan are room steward.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The staterooms are small like hotel rooms in large cities but the balcony really eapands it. There was plenty of storage room in the cabin.

Ship tip

If 2 or 3 levels up or down, take the stairs.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

2 out of 5

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
If not doing an excursion on l y shopping areas to walk around. Maybe if it was back to 100% from hurricane may be better.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

4 out of 5
Did the rainforest hike. Was very good.

Fort-De-France, Martinique

3 out of 5
Did train ride, was fun, but long ride to get there.

Bridgetown, Barbados

4 out of 5
Better walking area of town and beach.

Pointe-A-Pitre, Guadeloupe

4 out of 5
Did waterfall hike. Wished we had more time. Early time for leaving port makes it hard to see much.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Crazy crude getting off ship.

How do I know ahead of time of a big group is taking over the ship??? Tks in advance...

Just found out that March 3-14, 2019 will be another cruise especially for vegans. So avoid that sailing if you don’t want to make the same experience like dnlgkelly

We were on the Divina last March and they very same Vegan group was on board and we had the very same problems. Forced into the late dining (with a 5 and 3 year old); half of the Buffet closed off for the group, and not as many "activities" during the day because the group had many rooms and spaces booked for their events. We were told (after we were on board and angry about the late dining) that this group booked half of the ship 2 years ago. I found it absurd that they would not communicate that to people making reservations, but I see they let the same thing happen again. I feel your pain and sympathize with you. Lesson learned...do not sale the Divina in March.
